That's why I started by saying ' For Asians', and that's also why BWF awards more points for BAC than other continental or regional championships. I can assure you all the Asian athletes take the AG very seriously.
Its hard to say. If people include 1 as Major, gotta be fair enough and include the other ones as majors. OG AE WC AG are all majors in my book. but OG is still more important than the 3 combined. You can say they are majors for all the different reasons. Some is for prestige and some is for the hype, perhaps.
I was under the impression that the continental games stuff all gave the same points? If not, that's blatantly unfair. Either set a uniform standard or give no points at all. TTY with only the second successful back line challenge I've seen so far - something like 90% of them are wrong
Some comments in twitter lol. Not sure if the posters mixed up the names or watched an entirely different match
The big occasions are a test of the contestants' mettle, esp for the top contenders, some thrive , some wilt under the pressure of the burden of the occasion - it happens all the time, that's how upsets occur, and why we have to expect the unexpected. Which makes it all the more amazing that Lin Dan and LCW and then Chen long during their heydays were so consistent in vying for the major titles. Even for tennis, I read that since 2002 , for a long 17 years until today, the grand slams have been dominated by the Big Three, viz., Roger Federer, Raphael Nadal and Novak Djokovic.
At least in tennis there are 4 GrandSlams. In Badminton, there should be 4 titles that are worth winning every year too. Only then the fair judgement can be made (like the top 3 in tennis). But even the ATP1000 are v importants too. so what do you think are the 4 majors every year?
