Why pair up the MS and WS ? They should be separate.

Too few choices, and can't believe there's no Lin Dan . Or is he considered a dark horse ? He is too well-known for that.

For me, MS dark horses are those other than the Super Trio, Chen Long, Lin Dan, LCW.

For WS, I consider Chen Xiaoxin a dark horse. As for the fancied WS, there are several more than the MS, namely, Akane Y, C Marin, Nozomi O, P V Sindhu, Intanon R, Sung JH. Too bad,Tai TY is not playing, or she is the clear favourite.

ms: srikanth, cl or axelsen. those 3 are the only ones i believe can string together 6 matches in a row, even with a couple of tough 3-game matches along the way. however, all 3 of them are capable of flaming out early, too. i pick srikanth. if his head is in the game he's unstoppable.

ws: pv, okuhara or yamaguchi. it's all about speed & racket skills. in the past marin had more speed than everyone. those 3 have caught up. marin has not caught up in racket skills. i pick pv. if she plays her best, she's the best in the field.

md: li/liu or kamura/sonoda. nothing specific, but i think those pairs have been playing the best lately. i pick kamura/sonoda to run (speed) through everyone.

wd: matsutomo/takahashi or cqc/jyf. same reason as md. i pick takamatsu due to experience.

xd: lk/hyq or zsw/cqc. no other pair has the tools to beat those two. i pick lk/hyq because they have shown more intelligent play than zsw/cqc.

Realistically, age is not on both Lin Dan and LCW's side, a little less so for the latter as he seems to be training harder and looking fitter. Also time is not on their side.

MS:
CL> KS> LD
6 matches in a row, and I assume there will be plenty of three setters, hence LD the third. I won't be surprised if KS bows out really early or CL chokes in QF/SF, or if LD brings up the heat and edging out everyone en route even after shaky beginning.
Dar Horses : LCW> VA> BSP = SYQ

WS:
AY > PVS > NO > CM > RI
I'll definitely miss TTY, PVS though have better big match temperament and great physicality I give AY just a notch advantage because she has the momentum of her recent form. CM still makes my jaw drop but I guess others are just used to it now.
Dark Horses: SN> SJH> Chinese contingent

WD: TakaMatsu or any other JPN pair> CQC/JFY = LSH/CYN
The Japanese girls are surfing on huge positive momentum in their dressing room, nothing can beat self belief. If CQC keeps her energy all the way, she stands a chance.

MD: Doesn't matter, more or less every body in the top 8 stands good chance, draws will be really vital. I personally favor Kamura/Sonoda just a tad bit more than others

XD: it's LK/HYQ's title to loose. If they somehow fails to seal it this year, they gonna regret it all their career. With LN out, ZYL retired, KHAN struggling to find a steady partner, HYQ shall dominate the field easily. Let's hope LK keeps his head calm.

Apart from the Big 3 i .e Chen Long - The Current World Champion , Lee Chong Wei - The One that Matters and Kidambi Srikanth - The Indian Taufik Hidayat

We have 5 outsiders as well, ladies and Gentlemen.

Introducing first

Shi Yuqi - Classic China

Son Wan Ho - The World Number 1

Chou Tien Chen - Fine Physical Specimen

Lin Dan - Devil's Favourite Evil.

Race to Glasgow is on and on 27th August, the New King will be anointed.

if lcw loses early, round 1 or 2, i think he'll retire within a week after the tournament ends. it may well be the straw that breaks the camels back.

He'll probably lose in the final like always.

LCW won't lose even if Round 1 and 2 opponents are put together on the opposite side...HAHAHAHAHAhahahahahaha.

When a friend of mine showed me these shirts the first time I was so hoping that they won't be the "WC kit". My god, that's atrocious!

Okay come on Indian fans, we know it's nice to cheer for your own guy (Srikanth) but let's be objective here.

MS:
CL?LD>LCW>VA
Chen Long has won the past two WC's and the olympics, so he's definitely a favorite. Currently LD has to get off his scandal, and his increase in his previously lost motivation can clearly be seen with games against LCW and VA.He has something to prove. No one knows what CL vs LD will be like, as no one has actually seen them play a real game.

WS:
Marin>everyone else. Marin also has a record just like CL's. She's known for winning the big events. No other star has shown to be a major force consistently even at superseries level.

WD:
CQC JFQ = Matsutomo/Takahashi>Ped/Juhl
Don't see any other top pair going on very well. CQC and JFQ have a very strong superseries streak, whilst the defending champions clearly have what it takes to be gold, although they only have the olympic title.

MD:
Goh/Tan? Gid/Suk=Li/Liu=Boe Mo >Kam/Son
The status of the silver medalists are currently unknown. The rest of the pairs have beaten each other, with the Indonesians having the best record out of the three pairs.

XD:
Ahmad/Natsir?
If they are in good form, they are the favorites. Otherwise, it is hard to tell who is doing well. The youngsters in China are somewhat unstable and there are no dominant pairs.

What time will the draw be?

Hopefully Kevin/Gideon is paired with Li/Liu in the semifinal. Based on their last 2 games vs LL compared with vs Boe/Mogensen.
