Agreed. I feel they just played to finish the match, no desire to win. I was looking forward to a tense G3 and really disappointed.

Amongst the CHN MD besides LiLiu, I still have some hope for Zhou Haodong. He looks calm and quite consistent, others are no hope, even Liu Cheng

Yeah looking at their body language was just pure embarrassing.

They need to find a better partner for ZHD, someone definitely not Liu Cheng

They should give Wang Chang/Zhou Haodong a try. At least they are National Games Champ

Shi Yuqi's mental strength is wanting, with his young opponent determined to run and throw back every shot at him, he starts to waver...and loses his touch.

Shi Yuqi got to believe in himself and play his shots decisively and keep going or I see an upset in the making.

Meanwhile Kunlavut is fearless and playing freely.

Kunlavut had beaten Lee Zii Jia before in the Swiss Open. After that Lee Zii Jia was under a lot of pressure and then he won the All England.

I think Kunlavut studies his opponents well,I watched one of his interviews after he beat Lee Zii Jia,he said his coach and him discussed strategies on how to play against Zii Jia because he's tall. So I won't be surprised if he studied Shi Yuqi

    Thailand has a good system.

I remember Ratchanok was world champion three time, and the same with Kunlavut.

They have a lot of talents

They also improved their doubles department. They really invested in their grassroots.

Oh oh upset. CHN Men team seems unable to perform under pressure  It's the women team to save. Thomas Cup will be interesting.

Thailand really need a new WD ^-^ not because of this tournament but because of 10 next years.

This Thai's women pair always lose to Korea/Japan/China.

    ALWAYS ^-^

No doubt, I'm sure Kunlavut has studied SYQ's game and prepared well for this match but that is to be expected for every player, however, that, to me, isn't the decisive factor for KV's victory, just look at the kind of mistakes SYQ made. It wasn't so much KV beating him as SYQ defeating himself.

In other words, KV is a promising talent but at the moment his level is not (yet) at or above SYQ's.

OTOH, look at Chen Yufei, her opponent, the experienced veteran Busanan also appeared well-prepared and seemed to read CYF's game at first but CYF, to her credit, showed maturity, stability and the smarts to introduce more variation to her shotmaking and break her opponent's rhythm, thus restoring the balance in her favour and quickly took charge of the match for a convincing win.
