Surprised that this is the 1st meet between Korea and Japan in TC History. so Double KOR vs JPN and THA vs CHN today, even in different Round.
Not sure if his cleats are not far back enough or momota’s defense has deteriorated badly but he seems to have issues with cross court smashes
Seems that there is an emergence of players who has the physical/athletic ability to hit high percentage smash winners. Seo, LZJ, and of course VA. If given just a bit of time (and not necessarily weak lift), they can nail the shuttle to the floor. While others like Momota, SYQ, etc, at their physical stature even if they are given the similar amount of time, they cannot hit outright winners. The result is that players are often resorting to avoiding any type of lifting.
At 10-10 after that deceptive forehand net, KM played straight smash and was predicted, LinDan would have played cross drop to same place again,
At their peak, they are also the floor nailer category. But LD / LCW both slowed down in the latter years and not be able nail the floor with as much ease as before.
agreed, I’m wondering with this kind of plays how come he’s on ranked 30+, would have been easily top 10 lol
