Hi everyone, I just want to hear your opinion on the BWF broadcasts. Compared to the last few years, I think there are a lot more replays from rallies. This is particularly annoying when it is a "normal" rally and sometimes the next rally is only shown halfway. Your opinion ?
@ Morton Frost - I know you are reading here. Can you say something about that? TIA

Even I felt that was not necessary. I was watching prannoy 's match against Christie. Replays are longer in such a way that the next point rally is going on when the replay got finished. We could hear that sound on the background and we feel like why cant they show just the replay of end of the rally instead of showing the whole rally.

Sorry my bad english (don't know exactly words I should choose to interpret it).

I mean: When Jordan/Oktavianti serve the shuttle, Thom hit back like hitting the ball (ping pong). a slight smash shot like ping pong (table tennis)

Why single out Denmark? Other teams are there in full force as well, they're just not achieving results. INA, IND, MY, they're all there, you can't blame the Danes for doing their best....
While I agree the absence of two of the strongest badminton nations massively skews the results, it's incredibly unfair to blame any single one of the participating ones or call them out for benefitting off of the situation. If you want to assign blame, it's the BWF who you need to look at - they're the governing body, and they decided to go through with this. I'm feeling a bit torn myself, with the situation being as bad as it is rn having sporting events doesn't seem necessary, but at the same time other sports are having significantly more risky events and I'm guessing many ppl are enjoying this distraction in these challenging times...

I dont think anyone is stealing from anyone.

BWF will not take the points off from 2019 tournaments anyway for top players if it follows ATP so its a double chance for anyone who plays in the same tournaments this year. It will benefit the lesser ranked players to an extent but that is the best BWF can do i believe.

Aa for Prize Money, if you dont play you dont earn.

Last tournament, Mia had a dream run and earned points. Now , she wanted Line to do the same. Sacrificing for friend!. maybe. No idea. Just my opinion.

I don't know. I really hope Mia isn't injured cause of her hard games at the Yonex Thailand Open. Next round Carolina is waiting.
With the win in this first round Line goes up to Nr. 9 for the WTF and passes Saina Nehwal and KIM Ga Eun (even Nr.8 if Pusarla loses tomorrow). So she will normally be first runner up for the WTF . Mia would only get this place Nr.9 if she beats Carolina ...;-)

    Dear Bardie
I have noticed the situation. I do understand the problem, but I have no jurisdiction. However, I will ask someone who knows more about it than me. Would like to add though, that I find it great we receive replays of more tricky situations from various cameras.
    Take care
    Morten

If you're good enough to get to 18-11 and 11 MP, losing the match is a meltdown. Sure, Verma played well to get back into it, but he absolutely couldn't have done it without LZJ messing up. There were some shocking shots from LZJ in there, definitely nerves/second guessing himself. We'll see whether that's something he'll grow out of or whether he'll follow in LCW's nervous footsteps, who almost always fell into a predictable default when he had a chance of winning against LD (making that match winning point in Rio such a surprise).

My thoughts exactly with Gicquel, I can see that he has improved a lot and still has ways to go! Plays very smart, if he gets the technique and consistency down then he will be the top European male mixed doubles player. As for Delrue, if she follows his lead then they'll continue doing well and what I noticed is she lacks a bit of speed or doesn't take chances to be aggressive.

A big blow for INA camp following three hotshots going down in first round...
    • The off-form Jonatan Christie continues lacklustre performance, has not regain his self belief yet that intrepreted by tons of unforced error. At the brink of losing, Prannoy saves match point to grab three consecutive points leaving the Indonesian heart-throb into huge disappointment. Christie chance practically is gone for next week jack-pot. Top contenders Viktor Axelsen, Chou Tien Chen safely through into second round.
    • In women's singles, the favourites Carolina Marin and An Se Young power past their opening hurdle. Home latest talent Phittayaporn Chaiwan who defeated An in junior stage several times has no idea how to balance the Korean prodigy, it means An has tremendous development since WJC, there's wide gap between these two teenagers.
    • Worse performance by Alfian/Ardianto than last week second round exit, this time they lost to ENG faster duo Lane/Vendy. But good news for two INA back-ups Fikri/Maulana to subdue 2016 AE champion Ivanov/Sozonov. Ahsan/Setiawan also prevail despite struggled with their movement due to injury.
    • A big upset emerges in women's doubles where Chang YN/Kim HR were stunned by MAS rookies Pearly Tan/Thinaah in marathon 87 minutes. Kim/Kong and home hotshots Kititharakul/Prajongjai stay on course to set up a rematch if both of them could pass last sixteen tomorrow.
    • Mixed doubles new sensations Gicquel/Delrue send a signal that they're on the way to be one of top ten pairs. Jordan/Oktavianti have great start to take opening game but falter dramatically in next game as French pair inject the pace with turbo speed that troubling the All England Champions plus supported by numerous elementary mistakes, 21-16 / 9-21 / 13-21.
