"penghulu" means a "Muslim leader" or "chief"..
btw, from the side, the guy looks like Mr. Agum himself..

sorry folkz, a bit off topic here.. :p

hehe, just want to make a quick reply and no more.. :p

hmm, well, personally, i've seen it and experienced it myself. I'm not saying all of them, but especially for Asian people/descend and those who came from such family backgrounds and status..The tendency will be there for either/both families to still "get involved" with their kids' life. And now they must put forth their spouse ahead of themselves or their "previous family"..
It's a new family now..And i'm sure Taufik and Ami, and their own families, have understood and thought abt this decision and have committed themselves for the rest of their lives.. :)

that's correct...a custom or tradition at least in Indonesia(not sure abt any other Asian countries)...however, wearing a ring on the left hand is also fine...

The reception at the Mulia hotel was amazing. I dont know the exact number but from what i saw there might have been about 10K people there! it took me over 1 hour standing in line to get to the center stage where everyone shakes hands with the bride/groom and parents of both sides.

    Taufik.

Congratulations to Taufik indeed. Not easy to keep up with the pace once you are married. The dinner was coincidently held in Hotel Mulia. Am staying in the same hotel now. Need shopping? Let me know.

wow!! 10.000 people!! really!? i wonder how long the bride/groom and their parents have to stand up to shakes hands with all the guests? fortunetly, Hotel Mulia is quite large to hold all the guests, but is it enough parking lot?
