Sigh, Chew/Chong beat Sang/Zheng in 2 straight. Very dissapointing. But I never had my hopes high on them anyway.

It's all up to Cai/Fu now.

Sony won 2nd set. Now he is leading slightly in rubber.

Damn, too bad for Sang/Zheng...but I thought Zheng Bo was hospitalised or something.

    Sony won the game. 9-15, 15-9, 15-4

I don't rate Sang/Zheng highly looking at Zheng Bo's form. Zheng is recovering from allergy over some medication but the Chinese coaches finally fielded him to put up a fight.

OK, the day's over. My predictions (very first post) were almost correct except the following. And for me, these are also the upsets of the day.

Aamir Ghaffar bt Shon Sheung Mo - for me, the biggest upset today, quite a coupe for Ghaffar

Fairuz/Lin bt Sudket/Patapol - even though Malaysians are seeded, I thought the Thais were good enough; looks like I underestimated my countrymen, the victory was quite comprehensive

    Rebecca Bellingham bt Aparna Popat
Cheng Shao-Chieh bt Wong Mew Choo
Yip Pui Yin bt Kanako Yonekura - the only significant upset in the WS

I think with the addition of Rexy to BAM, it will def. improve the standard of the Malaysians MD as well as XD. I can already tell by the current WC results. Who would've thought there will be 4 pairs in the R16 play. Remember, the players he's coaching are still raw and very young. And I noticed with one of their pair, the style of play is quite similar to that of Rexy/Ricky when they were still playing..

How many of that 4 pairs will still be around for the quarterfinals?

My optimistic answer is 2(Bin Shen Tan/Soon Hock Ong and Choon Eng Chew/Tan Fook Choong) ..however, realistically i would just go for 1..
how's that for an answer..

I hope she can go a little further. Badminton has been quiet in HK. We've lost out on badminton coverage out to table tennis after some HK pair got the silver medal in the Olympics (in tt).
