    Hi all,

I heard in mainland China, you can get some very good deals on rackets. One of my friend will be visiting China soon.
What racket would you guys bring back from China if you had a chance to visit there?

i don't get it-- are you looking to buy for re-sale purposes, personal enjoyment, to look hot on the hard courts of badminton, or what?

I think what Bornaby talked about "good deal" is he would like to have a good bargain.
But I think you wouldn't get good bargain from international brands like Yonex unless you're looking for the counterfeits.

cool thanks, that still leaves no room to answer the question because all you did was re-word his original post.

Hi offbad and Scott. Thank you for your comment. Sorry if I caused any confusion.

I was thinking in terms of re-sale purposes. Was wondering if there are rackets that are especially and relatively cheaper in mainland China.

It's improbable to find a physical resale shop for badminton.

Used international brands are usually traded in social media.

Also beware of fakes. Even in a nice shop you are never really sure in mainland China. And never trust a cheap one.

I live in China and honestly, Chinese players prefer to buy their rackets other places like Japan and Taiwan.

So chinese players don't play with Li-ning rackets?

Of course they do (although yonex and victor are more popular in my circle). I mean, most players buy their rackets in China of course, but whenever anyone is leaving the country for a vacation everyone gets excited and wants badminton stuff because good quality rackerts tend to be cheaper in other countries.

You would think based on the number of players, and the respect the sport gets here, badminton stuff would be really good quality and super cheap because of the low cost of goods here, but that's not really the case. If there is some specific brand you want that's only available in China, go for it. But just in general things won't be cheaper or a better quality just because it's sold in China.

But Li-ning is chinese so I suppose that it's cheaper than Yonex or Victor if you buy it in China, no?

Yeah, I guess. I don't actually know how much Li-ning rackets are in other countries. Are they terribly expensive?

They are more expensive than Yonex or Victor, not by much but still enough to lose interest.
