(i don't know where exactly to put this post. It could be related to the other thread in here titled "What changes do you want to see in WC 2007, but i think that's more specific. Mods, please feel free to merge this in another related thread if need be)..
*in terms of injuries and so many players missing(so many byes)*...and in reference to this thread : http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=36558&page=2 (see post 21 & 22)...Esp. with the new SS next yr, i understand BWF is trying to something different, but will they put too much "strain" on the players(physically) before the WC??..haiz.. :p :(

Nothing much can be done if players get hurt while training, or got sick etc. That's just luck. As for scheduling tournaments before the WC, it is quite usual for warm-up tournaments to be organised before big events, isn't it?

I guess whether one gets injured or not is down to luck.

Prize Money. Players will get through pain for money.

Yeah that's true :D :p But why they didn't already give the players money, it's the most important tournament of the year  :) :p

stop playing before 3 months of the wc..................

And then we'll see all the really good players dropping in rankings. :p

Yea, you can't really weave a tournament around injuries as they're unexpected. It was just an unlucky streak last year perhaps.

making the WC an annual affair makes it lose its prestige, and when you couple loss of prestige with no prize money, there just isn't any incentive to drive players to participate.
