does anyone know what string and tension Nitya Krishinda Maheswari uses? Can't really find them on this thread.
BG80 is FME a string which reduce its power above 30 and it holds tension pretty well. Every lbs more takes a bit of it. PS of 25% is a really hard PS for any badminton string in relation to setted tension. I made the experience that too much PS kills the elasticity and the sting will end of (for my feelings) dead and dull and less crisp and lively. 5% and 10% machine PS are IMO fine and enough, I never did more. I just made the experience that my first manual PS, when you give it the beans too much, played horrible. I used a luggage scale and though much, helps much and I failed. Just my impression. Tbh I don't know how this combination plays, but can imagine. What me made think is: Why does a pro go for such a hard PS? He isn't an average joe who goes for 4 restrings per year. He is sponsored, so money might not be an issue and he should be able to go for fresh jobs, whenver he wants?
I don't get it either - a pro will have half a dozen rackets in the bag, so as soon as one loses its flavour they can just get a fresh one. And any they don't use can be done again for tomorrow. PS is for those of us who run a racket for more than one match. Personally, I think manual prestretch only is better for 30+ lb situations - you get all the plastic deformation out, but you don't run the risk of pushing the string past its limits.
Would anyone happen to know Jan Jorgensen's tension at the recent Japan 2016 open ? Looked like an arm breaker ;D
He used BG80 @ 34 lbs the last years. Doubt that he changed something. Like most pros...some just knock off 1-2 lbs if the venue is slow.
I was a bit surprised to see a Thai female singles player (Busanan Ongbamrungphan) run BG66UM @ 32 lbs. at the Denmark Open. Our climate usually dictate a bit less tight tensions, and the UM being a thinner than usual string for a pro player, would end up pinging like crazy. Probably the highest pinging racket of the tournament? Some of the men were sporting the usual 15 kg BG80.
Hmm some of the higher tension Bg80 might ping higher, or maybe there's a guy using 66UM as well...but yeah, dont know if I would trust the 66um at anything beyond 30
Alot pros use strings which are know for tension loss. Especially BG65 (TI) and BG66UM or a lot of Victor strings. They rarely request PS, so I think that some of them choose a bit more tighter stringing jobs instead of PS. I think that they go shortly before close for new jobs, so it can happen that a racket is 1-2 days unused.
Why do so many pro players use 65 and 65TI? Do u all agree that 65 performs much better at higher tension? If it's supposedly the 'cheapest' string. I have tried AS, 66UM, 66M, 80, li Ning #1, 85, etc. I tried 65 at 26x28 (considered high enough for me) and it does feel quite good.
I think the main reason for them to use BG65 is not that it performs greater at higher tension but because of the durability (thickness of the string). It's not exactly a performance string, tbh, Yonex puts it in the "durability" category.
Yonex is the king of repainting rackets. Shouldn't be an issue to produce a string in the same colour to give this impression. What me actually make guess are the strings and tensions of following chinese taipei players: - Lee Yang - Lee Jhe Huei - Yang Po Han - Lu Ching Yao For the Lee's @Mark A or @paulstewart64 can drop me a PM.
Does anyone know what string LD was using at the Swiss Open 2017 because one of his Rackets was using red strings Thanks
Given that his reported favourite string is BG80, my guess is that it's his special edition red version of that.
