The schedule for the Finals is out: XD, WS, MS, WD, MD (sigh...as always, they put it as the last match )
Out of the 6 matches that Kido/Hendra lost this year, 4 of those are to KKK/TBH (twice), CTF/LWW and Fu/Cai. I am glad that they can avenge the loss to CTF/LWW at the Aviva Open The other 2 losses are to Korean pairs...one is to their final opponent, Jung Jae Sung/Lee Yong Dae. The other is the surprising early defeat to Han Sang Hoon/Cho Gun Woo in the AE. Since then, they have defeated Jung Jae Sung/Lee Jae Jin in the Sudirman Cup. Last year, they beat JJS/LYD twice. So, let's hope that they can play as calmly as today and claim the title!
Korean team has Ha Tae Kwan as their MD coach...i have faith in them... Ha Tae Kwan quoted that their MD will win the title before the tournament starts and i was laughing at him. but now i am stunned...what he said might come true...this is how people setting their targets... not like M'sia team only know how to talk big...in the end, everything kaput! anyway, it's not the first time...
Just came back from the stadium. What to say? LWW/CTF still do not hv wat it takes to deliver when all hopes r on them. Hopefully that TBH will become more mature in 1 or 2 years, still hv bright future ahead. Anyways congrats to Indo for hving 3 finalist! Will be supporting them tmr.
Agreed.TBH/KKK are still young. They have time to mature, develop and improve.Hopefully, they will remain focused and never give up I also hope Rexy is not too dejected and still have faith in all of them including TBS/OSH and Fairuz/Zakry.However, don't put too much expectations on them in the future.
Haha.I agree with you. They need to be more consistent and their mental approach should be stronger.I hope they will be more consistent and stronger after WC.Experience makes you tougher after all.
Lots of surprises.. ..hi all..just a quick post in the 2nd to last day of the WC.. Well, i finally went to see the Semifinals. And it was quite interesting but a couple of pretty entertaining matches caught my eyes; 1 from the MD and the other from the MS. The first MD match between the young INA pair vs. the veteran MAS pair was a real cracker. Both games were very closely played and competed. But i noticed the difference, IMO, was the lack of net play from the MAS pair. Throughout the entire match, there seemed to be more flat-drives and the usual lifts & smashes game. In the end, after numerous deuces, a couple of minor errors and quick attacking plays from the INA pair, closed the deal. The MAS pair showed great sportsmanship, though, after the match ended by congratulating the young INA pair with a smile as they left the playing area. Btw, I really love all the fans who were chanting, clapping their balloon clappers and drums from the very beginning when the players entered til the end. Very well orchestrated and lively!! Can't beat the noise and cheers!! The other entertaining match involved the MS duel between Sony and CY. I thought both played well, but it was a very long match. In short, both players could've won the match, but it was Sony who seemed to be hungrier for the win.
Yup.I was there and I thought the atmosphere was great too.My heart was beating so fast during the MD match.I was really nervous. In the end it was over for MAS and joy for INA.After the match I straight away went home.On the way I saw Hafiz and his wife though. And I saw ZTT shopping away at the stalls.I saw her today getting interested in a shirt with the tiger print on it.
That's the official.. ..well, one of the "official" 2007 World Championships t-shirt (it's black or dark blue in color); there's another version under Proton brand, white color with a simple shuttlecock down at the left hand side...
About the game...MAS kept lifting and had little chance to attack.INA attacked more and MAS just kept defending. It's hard to get points that way.Anyhow, did you see the pakcik the MAS flag with the kompang? He's so supportive.I even saw him in the finals of the squash MAS Open.
Yes... ..saw the ever popular leader of the MAS chanting group, Pak Cik, even outside in the lobby/hallway area...When he came down, i immediately smiled while looking at him all dressed up with a very nationalistic dress..Hopefully he can come again tomorrow for the Final, if not to inject some enthusiasms in the crowd, eventhough there will be no M'sian playing in the Finals From what i saw, the MAS pair didn't seem comfortable playing the net as they kept on doing the flat-drives and simple lifts & smashes/defenses. When they tried to do lots of net playes, the INA seemed to anticipate them better. There were some costly errors also on the MAS sides toward the end, esp. in game 2...But yes, it was quite entertaining..
I think he won't be going unless he doesn't want his ticket to be wasted. He's a die-hard MAS fan and he won't show up unless there's a MAS shuttler playing.I won't be going tomorrow. Are you going?
Yes.. ...barring any last minute changes, i'll be there to watch the Finals..Yeah, i wondered the same also, whether Pak Cik will come to the Finals, esp. after the MAS MD pair lost..I would say 1/3 of the crowd left the stadium right away. I'm pretty sure they were a bit disappointed. Btw, i noticed today's attendance was about 45-50% of the stadium's capacity. Another funny thing i noticed was, the majority of the crowd actually shifted from one side of the stadium to another during today's Semifinals. For example, during the LWW&CTF's match, the crowd was sitting on their side of the court. But then later, when they played the last MD match of the day, the crowd actually moved to the other side of the court, leaving the previous crowded side empty.
I saw people running to get to the other side when LWW/CTF played.Haha.Thankfully at that time I was sitting at the right side.No need to shift.Where did you sit by the way?
Wel...it is tough to watch XD today as I was sitting and hard ti cheer both...your eyes was one court ( GL/ZB vs VM/FL) then suddenly you moved to otehr courts....hard to cheer....I shouted to loud!!!
