Does anybody know anything about this racket being brought back into the market due to strong demand?

Found it being listed on mybadmintonstore end of August.

    Yes. Made in July 2016.
Truth is; while the rest of the world stopped getting NS9900 from Japan, the production line NEVER stopped and has been catering to the China market all these while. Fresh as a daisy, 2016 made NS9900. What's not to like?

I'm guessing they saturated the market and the leftovers or whatnot are re-coded and re-distributed anyways.
Which is not a bad thing in itself.

I wish the same thing would happen to the original VT80s :( Absolutely loved it. Having such a hard time finding original VT80 4UG5, I resorted to using VT80E.

Thank you esppy for that enlightening piece of information.
So realistically, it's practically the same as the previous models?
I was a bit intrigued by the SP/IP coding behind the name.

I mean, TW coded already has them as well.

SP and IP... really, no worries man. Just coding. Just find the best deal out there since you're already decided on a non JP code.

    My first initial rough impression:

The frame is the usual isometric frame head which most are used to.
I dislike that the fact that the Nanospeed 9900 racket length is somehow shorter than the newer rackets.
I had to wait a little longer to hit the shuttle each time..... i am still adjusting to variation in length of the sweet spot... hitting the frame a lot during my first session with it.

Due to its 3U weight, the head light feel is probably not as distinctive as the lighter newer rackets... my balance point is just a little less than 285mm...
but it is still faster than my arcsaber 10 for defensive work and net kills.

The very stiff shaft helps with the smashing and drives. not bad.... smashing still feels good.
have been always struggling to find control in my drop shots with my zf2... using the head lighted nanospeed 9900 makes the drops easy.
Paintwork is... outdated and boring... They should have gave it new life by giving it a new paintwork!

Need to test it out more to conclude whether i should keep the racket.

I just bought a 2U G5 version of Nanospeed 9900 at Bras Basah Complex, Singapore last week. Already owned a Nanospeed 9900 since year 2010, I think it has the best looking graphic so far and lovely balance. According to the shop, it's an old stock and had been there for years. There's only 1 piece left and I was lucky to grab it.

just a note. while talking to a big local distributor with close tie to Yonex, he said you can probably bring back any racket from Yonex if you place a large enough order. but i wasn't told how large is large. :)

Assuming the retail price of NS9900 at MBS is set at US$149

Perhaps the minimum order is (at the very least) 1 thousand pcs

    IMHO

Sorry, wrong post. Meant to post it to the ebay thread. Anyway, I just received one from yyyonexfan on ebay with codes 7555260/220662TW. Seems to suggest a 2016 June production, if it is legit.

Clearly somebody did - the NS9900 is back, with a new (ish) paint job.

    Ordering two myself.

    Correction: ordered two myself.
