I actually bought one few days ago and my initial impression... was meh? Maybe I need more time with it but atm not seeing the hype about it

Give it time, it’s worth it
The first two or three times I played with, it was awful… no power at all but impressive control
It started to shine after 3 or 4 hours of play even if at first I couldn’t help myself but reach to my bag to take another racquet…

It's the qunitessential all-rounder - nothing sticks out about it.

I gave it 7/10 for everything, but that's not everybody's cup of tea.

I like it due to how linear it is; what you put in you get out of it in every single stroke, but also forgiving where i don't have to actively drive every stroke to get good results.

Kinda agree but control is just outstanding. Even on control racquets I tend to use BG80 but with this one I can play more safely even with BG66UM and that’s just a miracle for me!

Yeah linear is the word. Like you said, you’re getting what you’re putting in your stroke. Period. But that’s what I like about it. The little drawback for me is just that it’s not the easiest racquet to play when you’re out of energy / sick

It was touted by Yonex as having "holding power", which I always read as "control".
It was no Hypernano 900, IMO, but it was definitely up there.

But then all rackets were "control" rackets at the mental tension I used to use...

This thing was released in 2013 and was still at the Olympics.

It even won bronze in men’s doubles…

Pretty rare to see sport goods with such longevity

I really feel maybe because lack of anything better, the duora line was quite lackluster from what people ive heard talk about it. If duora was a good even balanced line with nothing gimmicky perhaps it would’ve replaced arcsaber series already

Yeah I agree, no more Duora to be seen but arcsaber 11 still going strong…

Hope Yonex works on the next even balance range

Astrox 88S to me was not an upgrade from arc11

You’d like the 100zz l. I feel it’s a suitable successor to 11. It’s a touch head heavy but so was the arcsaber lol

In my opinion the 100zz is much harder to be accurate with in doubles especially getting power and speed in the flat game. If you are using arc 11 in singles I can somewhat understand the comparison but to me its not really comparable in doubles. However this is based on using 100zz for 3 games in doubles and arc 11 since 2014 so my opinion might change after more 100zz experience :)

yeah considering the 100zz has a longer handle and shorter shaft for more repulsion, plus a really aerodynamic frame and wide sweet spot - i find it quite easy for particularly fast and flat games. So I urge ya to play some more with it at your preferred string and tension :)

I'll test it again then! The biggest problem I had in the flats were getting any repulsion from the shaft since its already very stiff and the shaft is shorter (harder to bend).
