we also tried swinging the Duora7. Balance is similar but the Duora7's shaft is noticably softer.

So get Duora7 for your sons and Astrox77 for yourself...

Any difference between the SP and JP versions on the AX77 noted?

dunno. but in Hong Kong, they haven't received any Duora7 shipments for a year already (from Mr Keen, one of the local distributors). not sure about other parts of Asia.

They are still available in US and Japan.

I got the 3u in blue strung with li ning no1 at 24 lbs. I also played with couple of 4u yellows strung at around the same tension one with bg65 and the other bg80. I felt that both 4u felt more forgiving and easier to clear whereas my blue 3u takes more effort to clear. Clears a little shorter with the same effort. I can't explain it, it could the strings, but li ning no1 should give more repulsion.

I got myself two Astrox 77 Blue in 3U/G4 as successors for my trusty Arcsaber 7's. I was hoping for a little bit more head heavy and little bit stiffer shaft. But unfortunately it basically seems to be the exact same specs :-(
Weight with stock grip, without plastic grip cover and without strings is 87-88g, balance 297mm. Exactly like my Arc 7's and the stiffness is the same.

I just received and strung them, so I haven't played with them yet. I know, I bought them without testing, but still I admit that I'm a little bit disappointed. The Yonex racket matrix looks like they should be head heavier.

Your matrix link takes me to amazon where I do not see the matrix, maybe something on my side. the yonex link to the yonex matrix is here (may need to pick a region first):

    http://www.yonex.com/products/badminton-racquet-matrix/

I no longer see the arcsaber 7 on their matrix, but the Voltric 7 Neo (VT7NEO) is in almost the same spot as the Astrox 77 on the yonex matrix. Of course, I failed to convince my son that the Voltric 7 Neo would play the same as the astrox, hence now a astrox 77 3UG4 is on its way :)

I was gonna buy one, but then I saw e78 has dirt cheap VT 70 E-Tunes, so one of those is coming instead..

Oh I think that link in my post was added automatically, I didn't include a link to the racket matrix.

But if Arc7 would be on the current racket matrix it should sit right between Duora 7 and Arc11...quite far away from Astrox 77 on that chart, but in reality plain specs stiffness/balance are the same.

You haven't played with them yet... wait till then before judging it. It's definitely not as flexy as Arc 7.

And head heavier than Arc7 for sure. Get them on court for couple of hours and judge again.
