The upset mode was prematurely cancelled! Mathias Boe/Carsten Mogensen [1](DEN) bt (JPN)[2] Hiroyuki Endo/Kenichi Hayakawa 18-21, 21-9, 21-7 in 0:59
Mathias Boe/Carsten Mogensen lift their 3rd SS title of the year (after Korea & India) as they beat the Japanese pair in 3-sets. Boe/Mogensen will surge to WR No 2 next week, ahead of Ahsan/Hendra. They will also compete at the Bitburger Open GPG next week, as the top-seeded pair.
Personally I thought the Japanese pair played horribly in G2 and G3. The danes did up their play in G2 and G3 but I dun think they played superbly well to a point of demolishing the Japanese in this fashion. The Japanese practically self-destruct in G2 and G3. For a pair who is ranked top 5 in the world, it's really really shameful What an anti-climax for a finals match. Terrible
As for Wang Zhengming I have only this to say , he let himself down more than he let his fans and supporters down. When do you think you can get another golden opportunity like this tournament to clinch a Superseries title where Lin Dan, Chen Long and Lee CW are absent ?
Waiting for another year perhaps... wait n hope but to get serious if ALL the Fearsome Three do take part I really can't see how the ROW MS can have any winning chance!
Yep , i definitely agree with you , that was a great opportunity for him to shine in absence of LD , CL and LCW , he could have clinched the title
I found WZM is not as fit as Chen Long. He should have taken the second game last night when he had two match points. After he was forced to the third games, his chance to win is diminished although both players are equally tired. I must say CTC played a fantastic games last night. In my opinion, WZM has made some improvement in his net play and made less unforced errors. He should continue to work on his fitness and the tactics while he is playing the big points and he should play with urgency.
I think whatever our opinion on the CHN team, or on oter subjects, it is not correct to call someone with different opinion "a troll".
For WZM, it seems also clear, besides the remarks made by others on his consistency problem, that he tries to play a game that does not suit him. The game of lifting to the back and playing with no angles, attacking only after quite long rallies.
He made the final bend; he was pulling strongly down the straight! And then he flips his head! :crying: This is no racehorse! He's a donkey! :crying: Oh well, like a fool that I am, I still hold out hope that this ass will magically transform one day into a thoroughbred. Sorry, nokh88! But if I were to play the blame game, I'd blame him 35% and the coaching and training team 65%. Congratulations to CTC. He hung in there, and took his chances well. He is the deserving winner for playing better through 5 days.
You should watch it, thrilling MS match particularly game 2 & the decider, most interesting of 5 finals The wasting chance by Wang ZM as he couldn't seal it at the score 20-18. While Chou Tien Chen performed beyond expectation, passed difficult encounters to defeat 4 seeded players en route to triumphant here. Congrats for his hardworking! MS discipline will be more competitive ahead, mediocre shuttlers are showing well improvement lately.
When you look back at CTC's journey, you may start to realise that, like many "fairy-tale" stories, it's all there in the writing, right from the start! Unseeded player Faced JOJ (seeded), dispatched in 3-games 25-23, 9-21, 21-15 Faced Axelson (seeded), dispatched in 3-games 12-21 21-18 21-15 Faced Sugiarto (seeded), dispatched in 3-games 14-21 21-18 21-19 Faced WZM (seeded) in the Finals Was without his coach (??!!) Lost Game 1 with a terrible scoreline Verge of losing Game 2 @ 20-18 Fought back to Deuce it to 25-23 Fought on the wings of hope to win G3 + Match + SS MS Title You can't have written it anymore dramatically than it already is. I hope CTC's extraordinary journey inspires many more to believe in themselves and slay their own dragons on their journey to possible greatness!
Truly said clely... I must say after this our top 7 players must handle CTC, WZM, KM, PK, HKV, VA with great care... Ms discipline may or may not be dominated by the top 3 and the WR 3,4,5,6 may upset some but we are sure that all the R1, R2 will be closely contested atleast
+100 for that but you should've also mentioned WZM's name... It shows no matter where you come from... No matter your opponent comes on a furious dragon with the name of powerhouse nation in back ground.. No matter if you lost the first set.. No matter if you have a tough draw.... No matter If you are death tired you can still win.... Go CTC I've always liked your style and surely will do forever
Was without his coach on finals day... Lol, his coach probably already booked his flight back to TW not expecting him to progress that far
Good write. Fairy tales do happen in real life, not only in Disneyland. If it is true, fire the coach.
