I didnt realize I had the pictures I took of the stringing and damage to the strings before they snapped, as they were saved in my dropbox.. Here is the stringing job that was done and the resulting damage to the strings from incredibly loose cross strings that had a ton of movement in them, and ended up abrading them selves on the mains. As you can see ALL of the damage is on the crosses, none to the mains. Ill definitely chalk my bad experience up to very poor stringing. Was done at Canuckbadminton in Toronto. I obviously wont be going back there any time soon.. in the fourth picture you can see the outer coating coming off the core of the string. One month and they were toast..
I'm no expert on string jobs, but I'm pretty sure strings don't loop around each other on the racket like that!
as a stringer myself and also have been using the NBG99 for the past 1 year... based on how the strings lap on the side of the frame that's mathematically impossible? i would be very interested how on earth they managed to do it in the first place
What the hell stringing pattern is that......? After playing the game for 30 years and learning to string racquets from YouTube and this very informative forum, I have never ever seen or had any racquet look anything like that! Whoever did that should be appalled and they are not a racquet stringer by any means.
Hey davinci.., you have my sympathy, another case of a chancer 'ripping people off'. I would re-post your pictures in the 'Badminton Stringing Techniques & Tools' section, let the stringers see what rubbish is out there giving them a bad name.
my friend will gonna try this string. his BG66UM broke after few hits since he string it @26lbs now he strung it with NBG99 25lbs (with his new BS LYD.. can't wait to try the racket too lol..)
Good combination, I am using NBG99 on all my Victor racquets and having tried many different strings, I think the NBG99 suits them the best – especially the bravesword range. I now use nothing but NBG99 on all my BS and MX, albeit at higher tension. This is definitely one of the best strings Yonex make, if only it comes in more than 1 colour!
Depends on tension. I even restring my rackets with BG80 every 2 weeks. IMO NBG99 is really good without PS but I doubt that it is as good as BG80, maybe close, but not similar or better.
I can only judge it for me. I guess that I hit harder/can generate more power with BG80 compared to NBG99 at the same tension. I recommend to lower the tension for NBG99 around 0.5-1lbs. BG80 works actually fine for me, so that I don't want to cheat with other strings. I hope it helps.
Recently tested the string on Voltric 80 strung @ 28lbs and liked the feel of it. My usual string were BG65 (30lbs) or BG85 (~27lbs). Control was definitely a lot better then lots of other strings. I'm able to play my shots tighter @ the net. I felt that it retain tension pretty well a better than BG65 and the BG66 range. Had a handful of sessions with it and it feels like the tension remain the same. Power wise I feels good to me. It doesn't pop like BG85 or BG66 range but it's enough and easily achieved. Well I bought a coil. Will try it on Voltric Z-Force once the string snap. just me humble 5 cents
