So all my Yonex shoes before (latest is an Eclipsion Z3) were 27cm non-wide. For the Eclipsion Z3, it was a tight/snug fit before and was a bit uncomfortable to wear until I got it to break in to my feet for around 2 weeks of twice a week (3 to 4 hrs play) sessions. I was advised here before that a snug/tight fit is better for shoes.
Now I need to replace my Eclipsions as they are badly worn already. I tried the 27cm regular and wide versions of the Subaxia GT in my local Yonex store and as expected the wide is more comfortable for me. It is still snug but the non-wide is tighter on the widest part of my feet (not sure what it's called but it's the bone on the side of the inner part of the feet just below the biggest toe).
FWIW, when I measure my feet against the insoles of the non-wide version, that same bone goes past the insole's imprint. I have not tried doing this test on the wide version though.
So with all these, is it safe to assume that the wide version of the Subaxia GT is the right one for me?
Thanks for the help.
