Thanks Cheung. I have no doubt that Saina is the most influential sportswomen in india right now and she will remains so after her career. She still has time to build on her legacy if she wants to be mentioned in the same rein as Camilla Martin, Tine Baun or Susi Susanti. Yes i agree its more healthy to have different winners from different countries in order for badminton to gain popularity globally but having certain dominance a la Big 4 on ATP or Serena Williams in WTA helps to make the sports even more appealing. Don't we all look forward to LD-LCW, LD-Taufik matches all these while?
as of now, saina's no 1 ranking is worth the hard work and consistency she has put in from last five six months in her game.
I don't expect both LXR and LD who have just more or less recovered from injury to go all out to win the MAS Open and risk aggravating their injuries before the start of the OG cycle in May and the Sudirman Cup, esp LXR as she is needed to be fully prepared to do duty as the leading figure for CHN WS when both WYH and WSX are not in good form yet.
Yes there is no deny she deserves her #1 ranking. Maybe i should put it another way. I would love to see her winning major title which will make this achievement even sweeter! and make India even more proud!
that is something which even i and every other saina fan would like to see too, as she herself has said she doesn't care about the rankings, the only thing she want's is to win more and more titles and i think she is on the right track as of now. will be interesting to see how she will perform in the malaysia pss, also li xuerui will be back in the next tournament so it will be a very healthy and good competition.
Yeah looking forward to the MAS SS Premier where all top ranks players will compete unless they are injured. May the best player wins and hope that the fans of those that lost will not use injury (or not in form/rusty) as an excuse.
some pics from the mixed doubles match featuring fischer/pedersen and bao/cheng. .and sorry i have to crop all these pics as these are high resolution pics.
i don't think i was there on the camere for once that cameraman was capturing moments from the vip and vvip section hehe. .i hate this vip culture of my country though
