ZM62 Fire reviews and comments

So I tried ZM62F today, my first impressions are mixed. Like others have said the feeling isn't there, but the power is. It wasn't that I didn't get good shots, at the net or in the rear court, it was just that the impact didn't feel solid. Usually when a string is damp and has no feeling I struggle more with my net shots (will hit the tape a million times).

I think the biggest 'no' for me on this string was the rear court control. For whatever reason I just couldn't get off a good reverse slice drop with this string, maybe it's not grippy enough for me.
You need GT5...

Ok so I got a confirmation from Steve Crandall from Ashaway that the product from e78 is genuine. The packaging was just different.

I too prefer the feel of the old ZM62. But it wasn't too hard to adapt to the quite similar feel of the new Fire.

One advantage of the Fire is the coating/jacket is very tough. It will not notch or fray even after a few months of play.

It's such a mistake to throw ZyMax 62 Mark II out of the window. 62F is not nearly as good as 62 Mark II at lower tensions. Someone should let Ashaway know this.

Yeah, I know what you mean. For control and counterattacking players like me, Ashaway went the wrong direction in feel and grip in trying to get more durability.

But there's an alternative, as I suggested above, Gosen G-Tone 5, which I think is even better than ZM62 gen 2.

How is GT5 for defense? I really enjoyed the effortlessness for defense from ZM62.

I would say "telepathic" for defence and counter attack. Due to the wonderful feel and grip, wherever you think you want the bird to be, it'll be there.

Is this ZyMax Mark I or Mark II?
