For plastic birds, zm67 @20-23lbs is great... but at that tension too dull for feathers. Need 3 lbs more or so.

I always play with feathers but I never knew there was (or need to have) a different set of tension for feathers and plastic.

Now I have never played above 23lbs - but could a lower than optimal tension rob you of power (i.e. 23lbs may be too low for me hence try as I may, feedback is dull and shuttle doesn't go full lengths of the court and short of 'tennis-serving it')

With regards to the above and BG80 or ZM67, what would be my next best course of action? Give BG80 or ZM67 a try at a higher tension at say 25lbs?

    Justin.

BG-80 should be a seamless change from MP. :)
I quite like both of them and I play at 22-23lb.

I have played only once with Z67, and it didnt' feel great to me. Perhaps it's true what they are saying that it needs more tension. That being said, Z62 is lovely at my tension (although it has to be "worked in" a bit)

Awesome - thank you visor and Fidget. Will probably give BG80 a go at 22-23lbs. Thanks!

I think i found the perfect match for the racket string combo. Am currently using ZM62 at 27lbs ECP on both my goto 96 holes FZ Forza Ti-550. Superb durability and tension retention with the first racket string breaking only after 2 months of use and the 2nd racket string now 1 month and counting. The extra close stringbed not only provides better durability for the strings by having more strings in contact with the shuttlecock each hit but also simulates a higher tension sensation. Good enough reasons to finally give up my goto tantrum 200....

It lasts if you don't mishit. :D. I had no problem with ZM67 at 31 X 33 until mishits.

One lucky ZM67 string job lasted over a month. That was extremely lucky . . .

So ZM67 at 32lbs would normally last 2-4 weeks then?

    Zm bites better than NBG.
Lasts about the same. I think I get more power from NBG, but better feel from ZM.

I bought the 10pack of zymax strings from an ebay seller that some here recommended.
    got 4 zymax 70 and 6 zymax67.
The ZM70 works great but I kept breaking ZM67 within 1 week EVERY TIME (one string only lasted 4hrs at 23lb).
My stringer took a closer look and found the ZM67 starts to develop micro tears even at 24lb. He said he had to pull the string VERY slowly to prevent tearing while stringing. The string doesn't break while stringing, but it definitely doesn't help with the durability during play. Anyone else have this problem?
No problems with ZM70 though (which I usually string at 24-26lb), always lasts exactly 6 weeks, always breaks in sweet-spot.

    Micro tears with ZM67?

Is he looking at it with a microscope?

    I've strung ZM62 @ 26X28 and ZM67 @28X30 and I yet have to see these "micro tears"

Will pay more attention on my next string job with ZM series
