Reuters 20 Jan 2012 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Tey Seu Bock refutes Lee Chong Wei's claims he actually uses APACS In response to an Interview given by Lee Chong Wei after his recent victory in the Malaysian Super Series Open, Tey Seu Bock has refuted claims that Lee has used APACS rackets simply repainted as Yonex. "This is completely untrue" said Tey. "I don't know if he'd had too much 100 Plus or was chewing Betelnut at the time, but I can tell you without a shadow of the doubt the new racket he has been using for the past two tournaments is absolutely not an APACS" and infuriated Tey commented. "Honestly, I think both LCW and a whole slew of the badminton community should stop reading internet forums. They're a complete cesspool for lies, inuendo, and untruths. Badminton Central is especially bad." he pointed out. "And anyway, it's completely obvious that the new Voltric is simply a Carlton Vapour Trail tour, with a few modifications to the mould and a paint job that nobody likes." he quipped. "We've got our man on the inside, a guy only known as 'Ants' who in a couple of weeks will go in and talk it up like it's the best thing since......well.....the Ti10. Judging by the amount of publicity the racket is getting on internet forums, Yonex should sell a pack of them before people realise it's less Ti10, and more Z-Slash....by that time Yonex would've made a killing, and, well.....mission accomplished!" Yonex and Lee so far has been unavailable for comment.
in previous page there is a picture lcw with apacs bag... my stringer said apacs is now using lcw name to produce lcw racket brand but under apacs company.
They're not APACS branded, they're branded something else which I can't remember.....something very forgetable. Got to fondle one late last year.
Let me clear some air on this. LCW has been making his "LCW" Racket Brand for sometime. This is definitely not new. Even Tan Boon Heong has his "TBH" Brand. So what happened to those rackets if you may ask. The players make those rackets for fun and not for tournament use. Sometimes as souvenirs to friends as they are not allowed to SELL any rackets or endorse their own brand since they are YONEX Sponsored players. If they do, they breach the contract and they will get sued. As on LCW is approached by APACS to make his own brand. I would say most likely yes but not for commercial reason YET. And he has also made his racket by other brands too. Anyway most of the 2nd tier brands are mostly OEMs. You can even make your own brand of racket if you want. If you can recall Jackie Chan has his own brand of rackets before.
I've seen rackets strung with stringers (even factory stringing) going all the up to the last cross then coming back down under it. The stringer prob tied the knot after the 2nd last cross string. which makes sense if it looks a bit loose compared to the other really tight strings.
Seems someone noticed it already from posts above. 19 kg would be 41.8 pounds, what? Stringing tension limit? Apparently Yonex sees a potential there in the Z's head shape, they just have to find the right amount of tweaking to improve it.
Then, the sport would be dead? I'm sure there will be a few who can handle the weight. Never mind head heavy, even balance or head light.
Found this on Yonex JP: http://present.crocos.jp/10669/facebook Google translation: http://translate.google.com/transla...f=1&u=http://present.crocos.jp/10669/facebook
looks like Yonex marketing team is running in high gear and now starting to use social media to market their product.
Really loving the Tyre on the Yonex website, or really gives me a good idea what this racket is going to be like...
