Thanks again. Frankly, I was expecting Boonsak who is capable of sharp and forceful attacking game to edge out Tommy, having in mind what he could do with Lee CW recently.
One month ago, she's still representing Panasonic at Malaysia Open, lost in the first round to the local youngster Sonia Cheah. One month later, now she is carrying Unisys name on court. She beat LXR, she might beat JS. If she really can grab the title tomorrow, it would be a great history. You can see how much she has been transformed into after joining Unisys.
If she wins today. One game down already. WYH isn't going to be easy. If I remember correctly again, Ratchanok said in an interview that her toughest opponent is WYH.
I think the drift is so strong in this hall that the far side court (from the camera) has a big advantage.
Sayaka looks a little jaded compared to yesterday, understandably, but Juliane seems tired too. It's going to be a battle of the less weary.
For badminton at this high professional level, even a slight feeling of discomfort can disrupt you mentally and spell disaster, for before you know it the run of points against you quickly derails your game from which it's usually too late to recover. I guessed that 's what happened to Boonsak's game just now. Don't get me wrong, I'm in no way under-estimating Tommy's ability, who on his day can trouble almost any player - I recall him giving Chen Long a creditable fight before, and an even better one against Chen Jin.
Hopefully not. It's disconcerting to see them suffer chronic problems so early. Even at the start of their careers.
Sayaka is playing like Minatsu. Playing safe and pushing most of her shots to the backline and wearing her opponent out.
Agreed. She didn't play like that yesterday and I'm not sure it's the right choice as she has a really good attack.
Sayaka is all the time hitting to Juliane's baseline instead of moving her all four corners of the court... hmmm, not quite right IMHO.
