The way Marin plays, she is like the badminton version of "Rafael Nadal"! It is nice to see WS world champion won by other than traditional badminton strong nations. It is good for the sports in long run.

LXR beat herself yet again, all her stinging, sharp smashes, x-courts drop shots, punch clears left her at the wrong time; her limbs stiffen up,it's no longer about skills but maturity and the ability to control one's nerves and adopt the right attitude on big occasions. She failed herself , and she has to learn the lesson the hard way; nobody can help her except herself, ask Zhang Ning how she did it.

LYB in the 3rd set must've been thinking "if you hit 1 more serve long you're off the team"

At the 2013 WC, it was Zhang Ning coaching. LXR has only herself to blame, she should take responsibility, not Zhang Ning then or Chen Jin this time.

From here onwards, marin would be the player to beat for everybody in the world. So, she should be careful. She should see what happened to ratchanok. She could not win a single title after becoming world champion.

LXR simply doesn't have her idol Lin Dan's supreme self-confidence, immense willpower and indomitable spirit. Still a long way to go for her, much, much to learn how to deal with stress.

I have to agree. To highlight the point, both 2013 and 2014 match point ended the exact same way. Low serve, error on a simple net return.

Even if it were LXR who won it in the end, I'd still say it's a lousy match for a WC Final, she didn't deserve the title playing like that.

Anyway, congrats to Marin, fortune favours her.
