So my string broke ( I think it was Yonex BG 65ti, blue @ 22lbs), so I'm getting it gutted (can't wait for recommendations THIS time, as I'm playing today). But I wanted to know what you'll think is best of an Armortec 700... I am a balanced player (i.e. I need control to force the error so I can attack), and I think I'm pretty happy with 22lbs. I don't have many options, only Yonex, Gosen and (maybe!)Ashaway..... Main thing would be durability (as I don't play too seriously) and next would be control. I want to know, because I'd have to go around looking to get most strings, so I need time to do that before my string breaks again!! Any suggestions???
Concur. BG80 is great value. BG65ti will not break easily, but the tension is lot lower after a few weeks, and its a bit slippery. BG80 OTOH gives you great control without sacrificing on the power. You could try 22/24 tension.
BG80, no doubt. If you think you can take it, raise the tension to at least 24 or 25. Depends on how accurate and hard you hit.
BG 80?? Will definitely keep that in mind!! Thanks!! Hope I can find ut over here though!! I'm giving Gosen pro 70 a try this time.. Thats the best gut my stringer sells, and it's held its tension in my Carbonex 21 Special pretty well.. So it should't be too bad, right??
I think BG 66 will be good for you. I know there are a lot of issue about the durability. But, IMO, with 22 lbs, BG 66 will be very durable. And of course it has great control and repulsion.
According to Yonex Japan BG65Ti for control and BG65P for powerplayers. I prefer NBG95 on this racket for 3U and NBG98 for 4U. The NBG95 is durable and if you can manage BG65Ti, you wont be disappointed in the control and repulsion power of the NBG95.
