I could not help admiring some of the equipment used by the photographers at the Singapore Open and took some shots. Perhaps some of you would be able to identify these lens.
Most photographers that covers sports events uses Canon. I did asked those Nikonians regarding their cameras... i was shocked when they told me if they have a choice, they would use Canon. Then i asked why is that so? Simple answer was given to me.. Low Noise at high ISO. But then they say they have to use Nikon coz its the company's CAMERA!
I heard that reporters are free to borrow different lens from Canon company in HK. Don't know whether it is true, if so, it surely attracts professionals to use it.
Can borrow huh? Thats something new. What credentials a person must have to borrow lens from Canon HK? Do you have to pay for it?
That's not the fact Anita! In fact, Nikon provides that kinda services as well. I remember in 1997. We'd borrowed a few 300mm F/2.8, 400mm F/2.8 and a 600mm F/4 at a time from them for the 97 handover ceremony. Of coz it's free! The reason for professionals to switch from N to C is all about the capability of the products. Up to this moment. Canon is still leading the way!
but u have to admit tho, taking pics of tennis pros are ALOT EASIER than badminton pros because: 1. tennis get natural outdoor lighting vs low or poor inside lighting for badminton 2. tennis players are alot slower than badminton players
Yes... its not easy to take Badminton pics. Especially the doubles. Where it is superhard to take the action shots. Shuttle and movement is way too fast.
bloody hell, it's like a warzone out there. all those bazookas! very impressive equipment indeed, makes you wonder whether it's a badminton tournament or a camera exhibition.
I'm more impressed by gals holding the cameras than men. Its very tiring at times holding so many equipments. For example this gal.. was captured during the F1 season is Malaysia recently.. see how sexy she is...
Hmm, i was actually.. ...looking for one of these & if any photographers used it during the S'pore Open.. Btw, is/are there any other BCers in the pics??..i notice terry in one of them..
ctjcad you mean u are looking in geting one? Or your are looking if any photogs are using it in SO. I don't think there is a person crazy enought to carry one.
2 more lens with camera on the ground. How can she carry? Even no need to use monopod on that lens. Very strong. Is she a pro. photographer?
She is a PRO! Skinny hands but can carry those loads. And the walk around the Sepang track is not easy too.
