Anyone using this racket? Recently over the past few weeks I tried a demo of this and bought one after I found it to be an excellent racket for fast powerful doubles, excelling in both attack and defence.

Based on an aerodynamic fast frame sword cross section but strengthened with a rather unique wave structure, it is both incredibly speedy and surprisingly punchy for it's rather balanced 3U head weight.

My racket total playing weight with grip and strings is 86.8g with a head weight of 40.6g. For reference, my previous preferred rackets are:
    3U Arc11 Pro 90.6g/41.0g
    4U AX88D Pro 86.0g/41.3g
    4U AX88D 87.0g/40.6g
    4U AX99 85.7g/40.5g

Also bear in mind that I shave my G5 handles down to G6, so these weights are slightly lower than factory specs. Looking back, it does seem like my sample is on the low end of 3U.

Strung with the same strings GT5 mains and Zymax Fire 62F crosses at 24x26 lbs, I'm getting surprisingly very solid power shots with the stringbed on the Inferno. Clears, drives, counter attacks are all notably more repulsive than all my other rackets above, easily by some 5-10% by my estimate. I get this sense of the frame contracting and expanding in that instant of shuttle strike and the shuttle just seems to explode off the stringbed more efficiently. This may be happening with the other rackets to some degree but not so obvious as with the Inferno. Kinda addictive really! And defensive lifts and counter attacks are effortless with it because it swings so fast that it's easy to get the racket head to wherever it needs to be instantly.

It is quite stiff like the AX99 but the shaft is quite usable and the power it seems come mostly from the unique frame. Touch and feel is nice and feedback is direct, more so than my other rackets above, so it makes it easy to make micro adjustments to your power and direction of your shots during play. But net shots do require some care as it is a fast frame.

Would love to hear from anyone using this racket!

PS. Oh, and that matte red paint looks slightly holographic and is very sexy!

I got one coming in the mail. I traded for it. I’m excited! At first I was a bit worried about the 3u weight since I’m used to 4u these days, but hearing that it’s on the lower end of 3u makes me feel better.

Your 88d is 4U? I have used that and the pro. What do you want to improve on it?

Any of you guys tried the original inferno? I hated the feel of that racket, so wondering if they've improved it via this racket.

There are more than one model of Inferno. The Raid is based on the Inferno EX from 2017.

Really bad feedback. Not sure if it's a combination of the frame and the weight. The original was even balance. Just remember it being awful, but I can't remember what I was using back then. Possibly JS12, but I had no problem with some carlton kinesis rackets

From memory there was a lack of feel when hitting. Could be a combination of flex and frame shape? Been a while, just remember I wasn't impressed.

That's not a problem with this Raid. One of the sharpest and most direct feeling racket I've ever used.

    Lol no!

Just coming from Arc 11 Pro which had this weird feeling of shuttle hesitantly sinking into stringbed for what seems like 5x longer than the Raid. The Raid in comparison feels snappy and instantaneous... great for drives, defence and counterattack, while still punchy enough for attack. Too bad it's not as widely available as Yonex for people to try.

However, I'm discovering there is a downside to this wavy sword frame shape with sharp edges is that the paint doesn't stand up to any scuffs or clashes. Oh well, at least it plays well...

I’m also interested to see how it compares to the Axforce series or TKFE, Ryuga.
