Nova Widianto/Liliyana Natsir blew 2 game pts in BOTH sets at 20-18 and 20-19 respectively. Otherwise, it will be another clssic Final against Zheng Bo/Gao Ling. The rest of the results are pretty much expected, with more surprises coming in due to Maria Kristin Yulianti, Sony Dwi Kuncoro and Vita Marissa/Liliyana Natsir's commendable performance against the Chinese armada. At least 1 title is in the bag and I think Vita/Butet will surely add another title to their collection. As for Tony/Candra, its 50-50 given Fuzzy's unbelievable form in the past 2 weeks. For Maria, I still think Zhu Lin will beat her, unless of course there's another miracle tomorrow.
He he, Erwin now a prophet, kah kah And our Abedeng initutively flew there to witness it happen live. Worth all his $$$, I'm sure. Liliyana/Marissa showed great fighting spirit, not dampened by their XD losses, they fought even harder in WD
Maybe they will make upset no 19 & 20, and I hope of course our Fuzzy will make upset no 18 . Happy day at Semis for Indonesia team, who fought back harder aft the expected XD crumbled.
The biggest collector of upsets have to be Maria Kristin, right? And yes Maria is going to the Olympics. So, ...Maria, Tine, WMC, are the notable China-beaters in the horizon...
I was eating bakso and watching the match at the same time. I thought it was all gone at 18-20...only to see Maria so calmly recovered the deficit and eventually sealed the match. I screamed in delight....hehe....... Good thing the Final will start at 2pm local time tomorrow, which means I will probably have time to watch the first three Finals, before going for a function at 6pm. The organizers definitely have planned the scheduling which fits my needs
But unfortunately, Yippy's form seemed to have dropped of late. Hope she recovers in time for the Olympics. I presume she's qualified.
a confidence booster for Sony beating BCL. Gunawan/Chandra still the experience favourite to win the game. Unless Fuzzy/Zak can keep on attacking and fitness. Those 2 old man still very tricky and stubborn.
The "official" list only counts upsets against seeded players. Yao Jie not seeded player, so not counted. If not, there'll a load more upsets than 17
Neither, since I am back home in INA....in Surabaya (they last held an Indonesia Open in 2006) to be exact They still host the annual Jawa Pos-Gudang Garam Indonesia International Challenge though.....
CONGRATULATIONS to INA's Sony, Maria, Vita/Butet for their GREAT performance to take their victory over the mighty CHN's Bao, Zhang and Zhang/Wei. Totally OUT OF PREDICTIONS !!!!
