All the WS shenanigans like lift, clear, drop, punch clear into oblivion Minus the MS smash. That's his game in the nutshell.
True. Probably he was warming up for the elite tournament next week Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
He is beyond repair now. Gone to a point of no return. Today he should have won the match against Tomo popov Junior. But he lost instead. I pity Coaches who train him in a daily basis.
His loss today should sting for a long time. His Olympics dreams are done and dusted. To be honest, he is such a waste of talent. Rather than madly chasing qualification points, he should take a break, self introspect, and see if he has the zeal to return to international badminton Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The greatest regret in life is the pain of the highest potential unexpressed. He will have to live a haunted and unfulflled life.
For someone who lost against WR100, imagine against WR1 or curtains for OG. lol KS after losing R1: "KM is a left hander, how can I win against him", "BWF unfair, this draw system is ****!!" loll
He might not be able to go to Malaysia though. Poor guy. He made a great comeback from a very serious illness as well but looks like he’s coming to the end of his career.
Even more pity cause of his humble background and immense talent. In India education is decent now even in most rural places, but sports is unthinkable if you consider the place he hails from and parents without any sports background. And in my view he is most talented tactical play wise [i.e making opponents guesses fail].
Oh wow, I did not know Srikanth didn't qualify for the Olympics on behalf of India. That's a shame. I remember Srikanth back in 2017, when he won the Indonesia SS and the Australian SS, back to back, right before the 2017 World Championships. I had picked Srikanth as a top 3 favorite to win the 2017 World Championships after his excellent form right before the tournament. But he just could play his best at the 2017 World Championship and I think he lost to Son Wan Ho, if I am correct (Srikanth had beaten Son Wan Ho many times before the 2017 WC). It's sad that he did not make this Olympics. Srikanth was one of the best MS player to come out of India for some time, and at his peak in 2017, he was easily a top 2 player in the world - especially after his incredible back to back SS win before the 2017 WC. If Srikanth was in his top form for this Olympics (he is only 28 years of age, which should be the prime age for badminton), he would have been an outside contender to medal at this Tokyo Olympics (possibly bronze or silver, if he had an amazing run).
Wanted to feel nostalgic. So started watching Lin Dan, Lee Chong Wei, Lee Yong Dae videos. Then typed Srikanth Kidambi best shots and this video came up. I won't go into writing what Srikanth has become at present, just wanted to enjoy and share video of young Srikanth who was once one of the most exciting players in the circuit.
Btw guys, which is your favourite match of Srikanth which you've seen live? No highlights. Mine is Srikanth vs Viktor Axelsen 2015 India Open Super Series final. Guy lost first game and came back to win the match. He was following up and killing the shuttle so easily. That's my one of the favourite matches overall.
One question : From World no.1 in 2018 to 'Not qualifying for Olympics' , what really had happened? Srikanth : Only, i have been through my career. So, Only i know the Ups and Downs i faced, all the injuries that i faced. One thing for sure is that you know, in my whole career , i have never played a match to lose. . So, every time i got into a court, i always wanted to win. Be it, first round, final , easy opponent, tough opponent, world no.1, world no.100, whoever it is, i always wanted to win. So, In 2019, when i was injured , i really had to push myself because it was an Olympics qualification year , if it was an another year, i would have taken about 5 to 6 months break and then i would have come back and then played tournaments. Even in 2016, after the Olympics, i got injured, actually had a stress fracture, so i could not play for 3 months. then when i came back in 2017, i could really started doing well from the point i started playing tournaments. In 2019, i didn't have the luxury of taking such a long break.
I loved his resurgence in 2017 when he won Indonesia and Australia back to back. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
