I think I would agree with you. Though have not seen either of them in training. I think Jung is a clever smasher and a hard hitter. Even though he is a short guy but his smashes are well placed and off course hard. From many matches I've seen on video between Fu and Jung, Fu takes several smashes to win a rally, where as Jung usually take one or two smashes to finish it off.

Exactly , is about the variation in speed and angle as well. The disguise on his smash , it is so difficult for opponent to guess where he is aiming. Also the speed and movement of him at the back is unbelievable

When you are defending against JJS , you have to guess how loosely you should grip the racket and what grip to use, also positional sense is critical and do not make a move until he has actually contact the shuttle (stay in your defensive stance), as he has got great awareness. If he power smash he would always aim the first to left hip than second to right hip and it is impossible for players to change the grip when he is at mid-court smashing at 165mph+ at you , and defending with a backhand grip on forehand side would put you at greater risk and could mean the end of the rally especially when the incoming LYD is on full alert . Alot to think about.......................

That what make him so great ....I am going to miss him when he retires as I think he is incredible.......

When he retires after the Olympics, we will miss him. Surprised to see him 3rd on the poll, behind Tan. So Tan is a better smasher than Jung?! No wonder Tan and his pal are strugling now.

During the last AE, Anthony Clark commented with Gillian Clark, that when Jung prepares for a smash, they're terrified when Jung played against them! I wonder if he would be terrified if Tan smashes?

I would say Fu is the hardest hitter and Jung is the best smasher, if that makes sense.

Obviously FHF, and those who say otherwise is in pretty deep denial, lol.

While others were also some very good candidates, but i'd say FHF is the best smasher. Why?Cos he'll smash whenever he can, like there's no limit on his stamina n power.Others smash very hard, some very steep, but none can do smashes as often as he is.

Besides,my anchestor came from the same place as he is,Jie Yang(揭阳),Guangdong,a Teo Chew as well..=P

Oh no wonder... you are able to execute smashes as well whenever you like. You have infinite stamina for smashing unless the bell rings & court owner shut down all the lights, times up.

That's true; he seems to display less variety in his shots than a lot of other players. I'm not sure that increases the effectiveness of his smash however. It does make being his partner somewhat easier though. You know exactly what to expect.

well, i'd say FHF smashes really hard. but if morgensen and ko sung hyun were on the list i'd def vote for them, esp the latter. his smashes aren't only hard they are very well-placed.

mogensen might not have the biggest smash....but the placement of the shuttles is very good...always at the middle of the court....very well angled

TBH smash is really packing a punch, yet his body and muscle not as big as FHF, thus making his performance so enjoyable to watch when smashing, it seems so relax and tender yet one of the most powerful MD smasher currently.

Xu Chen has a very hard smash (280mph+) , and also an excellent work-rate.

How would you rate Chai Biao's smashes?
