it just came to me that the Niedermayer brothers are facing off in the finals...it should make it interesting eh? umm..brings me to a point..do u think that this "rivalry" between the two will affect how they'll play?

well..for an update...i think new jersey will take it in 5...personally, the ducks are now down by 2 and i think that the ducks might pull out a victory but martin brodoeur will just shut them out right after that..

woohoo!! calgary flames squeak by to win the round 1 series over vancouver canuck by a sudden death goal. It was a tight series, almost all games were won by 1 goal.

Congrats to all calgarians for a superb effort by the flames in order to beat our canucks. It was an intense series and the best i've seen in my 3 years of watching hockey *i was a Vancouver Grizzlies fan before they moved*.

Iginla played well but most importantly the whole team played hard. That's ok tho, cuz our nucks will be ready next year for a true playoff run with big Bert back in the lineup and some anticipated off season moves.

Hockey is certainly one of the best sports to watch and i certainly encourage more people to watch one of the fastest and most skilled competitive team sport.

    Cheers!

p.s and if u do watch, support Vancouver Canucks! :D

The Canucks messed their chances this year, even though they are without Bert and Cloutz, this is by far their best chance at the cup and they screwed up. Next year is going to be hard especially with the CBA coming up, if there is a lockout, Naslund might retire and go back to Sweden, Linden also might retire, Cloutz contract is up this summer and he is unlikely to be back, Ruchinsky is also gone, Burke is most likely gone. So if lockout does happen, in 06 we will be seeing a totally different Canucks team build from Stratch almost.

And say there is no lockout, CBA coming through(unlikely since Bettman stated either side has even come close to coming to an agreement) but lets say there is no lockout. It will most likely be Naslund's last year as he stated that he wants to go back to Sweden to raise his kids after his contract is up. Cloutier is almost definitely not coming back as this was his last year to prove he can do something in the playoffs and very unfortunately he got injuried and even if the Canucks want him back, they will be going to artibutation and ask for his market value(near the 5 million range) which I doubt the Canucks will pay for an unprovement playoff goalie. We still don't know when Bertuzzi is coming back and if he does come back, will he still be the same. Also with the first round exit, Burke is unlikely to be back, also there are ownership issues with McCaw selling the team, so there really is a whole bunch of problems for the Canucks. :(

Van. Canuck played just as well too, 7 games, the series was decided by 1 goal. Calgary (and Montreal) will be up against some very good and well funded american teams. My bet is an american team would take the stanley cup because they have more top players. However, i do like to see a team from both sides of the border in the final. :)

    picture of brick wall

LOL, ok, I'll do some of that too.
Calgary Flames had just eliminated the Detroit Red Wings in the best of 7 games playoff series, shutting out the high scoring star-studded stanley cup contender Detroit team twice, back to back. Detroit had never been shut out in seven years of playoff. Calgary advances to the western playoff.

    Go Flames Go !

Credit to the Sharks for fighting from 2-0 to keep it close.
