Really? The "Yonex players" are supposed to get these racquets only at the German GP Gold and the All England SS. Maybe Chong Wei likes it too much already to wait until then?
Don't forget that LCW has his own personal special multimillion contract with Yonex Therefore, I don't surprise if he has some special privilege than other Yonex sponsored player.
Anyone else notice the trend towards black rackets lately? Federer has one, Lin Dan, and now LCW...and Panda Power had them before all others But really looks like there's a swing towards more puristic designs where rackets are concerned. Wonder if that'll stick or if it's gonna be short-lived... Well, he had the first Z-Force before all others as well. I guess he wants months to adapt rather than a few weeks or even days Also, if the release model isn't to his personal preference - which might be the case, there is the chance that even other pros can't or don't want to handle his specs, let alone the amateur customers - the one he uses most definitely will be, and to get it perfectly right even Yonex needs some time (after all they have to get the rackets to him, which takes time as well). Agreed.
Federers and Lin Dans racket are prototypes. I don't think anything new or revolutionary is going on there, and it's not a trend because it's only one racket
Back to the FB real/fake issue for a moment... check this screengrab from the WC's: Ahsan's racket has a 2+3 string pattern, but the FB is a 2+4 - there is a cross missing from the top. Did the stringers not bother with it... or is this a Voltric/Armortec in FB clothing?
Usually stringers utilize all the grommets, don't they? Unless Ahsan told the stringer to not string the cross, which is highly unlikely, I think it's a repainted racket.
if he is very specific and sensitive to the way a racket plays, it could be possible to leave one out?
Now do these (incl. link #2) http://www.badmintoncentral.com/for...e-II-VT-ZF2)?p=2193626&viewfull=1#post2193626
Maybe. I'm just taking my gamble on this one, since there's likely a few players (or many) on BC who are more meticulous about specs, weights, etc than professionals players are. And even these guys don't tell their stringers to leave a cross out.
Just had a look at the Denmark Open, and Ahsan's "FB" has the 2+3 pattern there as well. And I can't see any unused grommets...
