Under game circumstances, a red card can be awarded to a player(s) and a point will go to the opponent.

I saw a situation where a yellow card was awarded after the match had ended at 31-30 and the score was announced. The winner was over exuberant with the celebration and given the yellow card.

Let’s say the winning player got a red card after the score was announced. What would happen in that situation? Would the winner be made to default the match? I.E. the winning point overturned and the opponent gets awarded the point.

Second related question - if it was a black card after the score is announced and the match is over, would the winner be made to default the match?

Note that these scenarios are after the umpire has confirmed the point by announcing the score.

Local competition - match is one game to 31 points. 30-30 no added points. Level one umpire for the match.

the issuance of a red or black card rewards the opponent; red - 1 point, black - the match. once a point is scored by any player it can not be taken away. a black card awards the match to the opponent if the match has not been completed. once the match is finished due to a winning score it can not be overturned.

a black card can only be issued after a red card. as far as bwf rules are concerned there are monetary fines for receiving a yellow, red & black card. as we've seen before cards can be issued to a player after a match has been completed.

you still win the match but now you owe $ to bwf.

    Thanks for confirming.

As I thought but nice to have a second opinion for validation. Thanks.

    Fortunately, it’s not a BWF tournament. :):)

A yellow/red card after the match doesn't affect the result of the game
but the pair/player could be disqualified(ITTO 5.17.5) by the referee

A point which is already awarded can be overturned - this is (or should be) covered in the rules of competition. In most cases, this will be prior to the next point being played. The proper way will be with a 'correction.' Once the next point is played, the umpire will not be authorised to change it and will require the help of the referee.

Also, once the match is finished, and the score was not correced properly, the result of the match may be protested. This will be covered in the rules of competition.
