I'm an intermediate badminton player who plays doubles 1 to 2 times a week (2 hour sessions). I would like a pair of shoes which have some cushioning as i have problems with my left knee. I currently use a pair of Hi-Tec squash shoes. I only play for recreational purposes so I'm not really set on buying a very expensive pair. Looking at spending upto £50. What do you recommend in a UK size 10.5? Is there any particular brand which is better for cushioned shoes?
I have seen the Asics Gel Rocket, SHB 59U, SHB 57, SHB86, SHB 101LTD and various other Yonex shoes on clearance which fall within my budget. Unfortunately i cannot get the SHB-200 in my size (UK 10.5) which i think would have provided good cushioning.
You could go for Asics rocket or Gel task. Also you make sure your footwork is correct, just in case. I think these pairs are a major upgrade from you Hi Tec shoes.
Torn between the Asics Gel Rocket and Yonex 101LTD. Swaying more towards the Asics because of the cushioning but worried if the raised sole could cause any ankle injury as i beleive these shoes are not specifically made for badminton. How good is the 'power cushioning' on the Yonex shoe? which will be the most durable of the two?
