You know, one fatal mistake we have made is assuming Chong Wei will beat Wacha in SF, I thought we have learned from All England last week, is never over until "Negara Ku" is sung :D

Tine made a wise decision. Lu Lan was a spent force today....losing easily. Zhu Lin also crumbled in the second set.

It's WO to He Hanbin/Yu Yang!

The same goes for Gao Ling/Zhao Tingting. As widely predicted by many pundits here, Du Jing/Yu Yang obviously get LYB's nod.

Thank's God we won't have any more WO tomorrow as Xie/Zhang lost to Lee/Lee.

Good point, half empty-half full scenario. And those Yonex birds are so expensive.

LYB has already publicly said that since Gao/Zhao lost to Lee/Lee twice in a row (GO 2008 &AE 2008), they have lost their bid for going to the Olympics.

They participate just to eliminate some foreign pairs. As soon as they meet their teammates, the mission is fulfilled.

Since Xie/Zhang are not participating in the India Open, they are really clinging to the slimmest of margin now...in their bid for Olympics qualification.

Flandy/Vita basically will remain in the top 4 as long as Xie/Zhang do not participate in the Badminton Asia Championships. If they do go to Johor, then Xie/Zhang HAVE TO WIN the title!. No question about it. Any result below that will mean they will not qualify!

Then Xie/Zhang's AE Walkover to Zheng/Gao in fact shows they are dispensable in LYB's squad. Poor guy/girl.

Badmania, you didnt sleep the whole nite?

Anyway, I just woke & saw LCW won (as expected). Msia Uncles won, and best of the 3, Fuzzy had their revenge over Luluk/Alvent.
Tdy though Uncles will face Lee/Jung again to revenge their Semis lost last week.

but that doesn't make sense. wouldn't it be better to give Xie/Zhang the AE win so they can be a more comfortable position?

Don't forget, Zheng Bo/Gao Ling NEED TO DEFEND their 9200 pts from AE title. Further, they HAVE NOT WON a major title since the Japan Open SS back in October 2007 (5 mths of 0 titles for them). Since then, they had "let" Xie/Zhang won in the French Open SF, giving them the necessary pts for Olympics qualification, only to see them losing to Flandy/Vita in the Final.

Further, they lost in tight matches to Sudket/Saralee and Nova/Butet in the last 2 SS of the year, which u watched of course. They badly need a title to shore up their confidence, esp since they also missed out on the 2 SS early this year. Its pretty logical to think that Xie/Zhang will give them the WO so that Team China has a better chance in the Final against Nova/Butet.
