After a grueling year of back to back BWF events its time for the very last tournament of the calendar before the end of the year Finals. The Syed Modi International S300 in the cultural city of Lucknow,India will yet again see some exciting action from 28th Nov till 3rd Dec with many international badminton stars, especially the ones could'nt qualify for World Tour Finals, taking part looking to end their year with a BWF tittle. This happens to be my home tournament so Im excited to be attending the event throughout its course yet again and watching the action as it happens and hope you all join me from your comfort places via BWF Youtube channel streaming of various courts from tomorrow 28/11/2023 till 3/12/2023
Not specific reason it seems. Hectic schedule and he reached Semifinals of China Masters last week. It is understandable. But Sen's withdrawal is not good. He should have played. He has continuous 6 first round losses. He is in really bad shape.
Hes in Bangalore at the moment though his mom, dad and big brother are here..he seem to be busy with gym and practice and he said he could come down tonight or tomorrow depending on his schedule...so his appearance in LKO is not definite as of now.
Justin has taken game one..Im taking pictures as they play given Im in the stadium however I cant post due to some weird size restrictions on this site. If theres any other way I could post pics here then let me know.
The only two claps you will be hearing for Nozomi are Mine and coach's Btw Im sitting right in front of court 2 and right at my back is the Court 2 Camera EDIT -: There are more fans coming in gradually..Nice to see.
Unnati just downed her older compatriot in a three setter which was quite something from a game down.
Level 300 is what most players love to play. Easy points , lesser standards , lesser number of Top players, easy to progress, gain confidence boost and last but not least, it's a home tournament
Id say its not just for home players but all players who may have lost their momentum or doing a comeback from injury. I saw Nozomi today and how determined she was to win the first round and I really hope she wins syed modi 300 cause this will giver her a lot of confidence back. Besides Im proud that my city hosts a S300 event that Ive been a part of for so many years attending it and its always nice to see great players come here.
Im in the stadium and watching it live but They are telecasting it on BWF Youtube so you may have to use VPN to access it. Try using VPN given its geo blocked due to rights being sold to Sports18.
I get that. With the form he is in, I don’t think he would go past Vito in R2, that would further derail his confidence Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
A great day for Japanese contingent here at Syed Modi S300 with Fuku/Hiro,Nozomi,Kago/Saito and others sailing to the pre quarters tomorrow. I do see NO lifting the Tittle and I wish to see her as the winner too given this will boost her confidence to get her long lost momentum back.
Not surprised really. I know he has played a lot this fall so I just checked his stats. He has played a tournament every week since the Asian games. 9 consecutive weeks. Granted some first and second round losses but he won the Hylo open and was in the semis in the Japan masters. To be able to do that at 33 years old and as far as I can tell remain pretty injury free is crazy. You hear a lot about how difficult it is to play 3 or even just 2 back to back tournaments and this guy just played 9 in a row. Whatever his physio is doing for his recovery and injury prevention sure seems to be working.
