Found a little tribute video of TH... Pure raw talent.. but like said, after 2006, where he won what he wanted i guess (except all england) his desire and problems with the indonesia camp interfered with his work ethic... anyway, here's the vid.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zPnUIrFgQZM&feature=player_embedded#at=13
In one of the matches I heard John Burgess commentating. I have not heard him commentate on badminton for sometime and I wonder whether he still commentates on this sport. I understand he does commentary work on table-tennis, sepak takraw and handball. He is very 'energetic' in his commentaries and a delight to listen to, unlike some, especially the recent commentaries on the 2011 German Open, which were so boring and jarring on the ears.
I agree that the recent commentry at the 2011 GO was poor but for JB, see comments at : http://www.badmintoncentral.com/for...hat-do-we-think-of-them?p=1324684#post1324684
I hope JB commentates for the 2011 Singapore Open and maybe the Indonesian Open also. He is well regarded in both countries and have resided there. Overall he is fair and heaps praises where praises are due, for the players, the venue, the spectators, organizers, sponsors, umpires, service judges, linesmen, stringers, etc. When calls are not 'correct', he speaks out and when they are not doubtful, he is very sympathetic to the linesmen, players, etc. Give me JB as commentator any time.

Very happy to hear this .. Indonesia top players + Malaysia top players = fund raising for Japanese earthquake victims
Fund raising for Japanese earthquake victims . Yonex, a Japanese company, have always sponsored Badminton players. It is fitting for players to help out when many Japanese earthquake victims are found to be in such a hopeless situation. .

Rather see him retire than get beaten by young lowly seeded players in the future. His time is already over.
Taufik Hidayat: His time is not over until another INA MS player performs better him . Taufik Hidayat is still the No.1 INA Singles player. His time is not over yet until we have another INA Singles player more consistent than him (based on tournament results). It's the same for Peter Gade and Tine Baun of Denmark, Boonsak Ponsana of Thailand, Juliane Schenk of Germany, etc, etc, ...... I can see that none of the above will retire earlier (if none of their younger teammates can perform better than them). .
