Recently I got one vintage wooden Yonex racket, and tried to find some information about it, but i cannot~~~So now I shared some photos of it, is there anyone who knows about it, such as when it is made and the related models~~Thannks a lot~~~
I believe wooden rackets were popular back in 1975 - 1980 before steel rackets took over. As of when this particular racket was made, i think you have a better chance of finding the right answer by asking Paul Stewart (he's a coach and also reviewer of rackets, and most of all, i think he was there too when people still used wooden racket)
This is older than the mid 1980's. The brand Yoneyama suggests dating back further and I would suggest pre 1975. After that rackets were generlly made of metal. Carbon shafts were introduced around mid to late 1970's. I am certain of this as I bought my first Carbonex 8 in 1982. I hope this helps Paul www.badminton-coach.co.uk
as you may know, Yoneyama changed name to Yonex in 1974. so this is definitely pre-1974. a search in the forum might yield some results.
