my new reason to buy a new racket - "just got a 25% pay rise and no place to spend the money, so I just spent it on a few rackets."

    sweet!
25% pay rise is definitely a good reason to buy some racquets, a new car, a bigger house ..... etc ....

When I buy a racket, it usually is me being curious about the "amazing" rackets that everyone's talking about. But I mainly buy on 50% Impulse, and 50% to add to my collection.

...why are badminton rackets so expensive :( Collecting isn't kind to my wallet.

"Wife needs a new racket for her enjoyment. But since she doesn't play that often, might as well get one that suits me too...you know, better return on investment..."

    hand-rubbing followed by sinister laugh:)

Until she rubbed her hands, and brought out my 20+ y.o. blacken and cab8. later, I heard a long sinister laugh.:(

Can't find an answer in the poll...
I had a great racquet, very light, but it was made for precision, and I wanted one made for power ! It worked, my new racquet improved my smash power !! And I still have a good sense of touch. Just advertising for mine : FZ Nano Forze 4500 sl. :)

    good reason

Came back to badminton after many years of not playing, bought AT700, not bad, but just didn't feel right. Had carltons before, but only had one I liked and now obviously discontinued. Kept looking, now gone back to Carlton, some cheap deals on Ebay. Satisfied again, wouldn't change racquets unless I broke enough of the 4 that I bought!!!! In fact, should I buy some more!!!???!!?

Because some spannerhead of a beginner hit my racquet right in the middle of the shaft with his own racquet and it's been wobbly ever since. Just got some nice new strings for it, hopefully that'll extend the lifespan a bit longer.. but I've been hankering for a Karakal M Tec 70 for a whie, and now an Arc Saber 10 ever since I hefted one over at the All England.. absolutely beautiful racquet in terms of feel.
