    I played with VT80 3U G5 a few sessions and the more I use it, the more I like it. The swing is very smooth. But I think this racquet requires the user to have good wrist power to fully utilize the power it can give. I feel this racquet performs better than my AT900T (also 3U G5.) My 2 cents...

    It is RM560 for the frame. So plus BG66UM = RM35, in total I payed RM595.00.

    Hi Paul,

    You say in your blog that in the UK 3U is only available, is that right?

    I have been thinking about this racket but concerned that it has stiff shaft, which in past gave me tennis elbow, not sure how stiff this is. I had 900T for a while and was happy with it. Last year I bought Arc 10, and 900T. I'm just thinking wheather to go for V80 or the med-stiff V70. I play doubles and not known as a hard smasher.

    Thanks.

    Received mine yesterday(3UG4)...strung it @ 26/28 #s with BG85...played 2 hours last night...LOVE IT!! Have been using A900P for a couple of months, before that Arc 8DX, A900P, Arc 10, Nano9900, Arc 10.....

    Stronger smashes, faster returns(swings) and more solid drives and defensive clears. Very little adjustment time needed from the A900P.

    different tension is to avoid your racket frame become too round like a balloon
    you can check it's even on the racket cone
    string tension recommendation V = 28 lbs and H = 30 lbs
    V = Vertical = Main
    H = Horizontal = Cross

    Just tried the li-ning N90 and it's a beast of a racket (played singles) so now I'm wondering how the VT80 compares?

    I think different manufacturers recommend different stringing patterns. But most are crosses 2lbs tighter. So 25lbs and 27lbs, unless you want to go for a 25lbs(ish" medium with 24lbs mains and 26lbs crosses. When you mix the tensions up, I'm not sure if the mains are the actual tension you're left with.

    The crosses are strung 2 #s more than the mains because during the weaving of the crosses, the tension of the mains are bumped up about 2 #s. The end result is the tension of the crosses. Say...26/28 #s strung is 28 # tension.

    signed
    the stringer :)

    Back to the Voltric 80...it's so good!!

    well, i am a hard hitter player yet i still can't control it well. So, for right now i'm dating with VT80 more than my other rackets. :)
    maybe you should try a mix string tension, there's a reason for everything. :)

    Want to purchase a VT80, and going for a 4U. But can someone fill me in on how Yonex grip sizes work? I think my MX80 and 8DX are G5 size, but my BS10 is ever so slightly thicker than both and I think I prefer it. Does that mean it would be a Yonex G4?

    Also, what grip size do most of you prefer? Currently using Yonex Super Grap and RKEP Elite over grips.

    Get a G4 naim, it certainly will suit u more, my hand is small, i held the G5 and it felt alright. Then i saw the G4, i held it and it felt awesome. My hand get to cover the racquet grip perfectly. Very nice feeling. I think u should get G4. If u cannot find a G4, get a G5 then put overgrip till it suits u.
