. 2011 French Open SS: Semi-Finals Saturday 29-October Let's see who are the players who will move to the Finals (to gain more valuable qualification points for the coming 2012 Olympic Games). For Schedule of Matches; http://www.tournamentsoftware.com/s...C6BA8C-A6C4-4C22-852C-AA3D99223E35&d=20111029 For Time in France; http://www.worldtimeserver.com/current_time_in_FR.aspx Previously, I have given links for Live Streaming, but not all countries can share the links. Perhaps some BCers from different countries can post their links that are working for their regions. For our BC PAW Game; http://www.badmintoncentral.com/for...Pick-A-Winner-(PAW)-150-–-FRENCH-OPEN-SS-2011 .
The chances of players arriving at the Finals . According to the odds/points given in our PAW Game, we find the chances given to players arriving at the Finals to be; Womens Singles: * Tai Tzu Ying (TPE) 50% * Li Xuerui (CHN) 50% * Wang Xin [3] (CHN) 60% * Porntip Buranaprasertsuk (THA) 40% Mens Singles: * Lee Chong Wei [1] (MAS) 55% * Chen Long [3] (CHN) 45% * Lin Dan [2] (CHN) 68% * Kenichi Tago (JPN) 32% Womens Doubles: * Wang Xiaoli/Yu Yang [1] (CHN) 60% * Mizuki Fujii/Reika Kakiiwa [3] (JPN) 40% * Tian Qing/Zhao Yunlei [2] (CHN) 55% * Ha Jung Eun/Kim Min Jung [6] (KOR) 45% Mens Doubles: * Cai Yun/Fu Haifeng [1] (CHN) 62% * Hirokatsu Hashimoto/Noriyasu Hirata (JPN) 38% * Jung Jae Sung/Lee Yong Dae [2] (KOR) 50% * Mathias Boe/Carsten Mogensen [3] (DEN) 50% Mixed Doubles: * Zhang Nan/Zhao Yunlei [1] (CHN) 55% * Joachim Fischer Nielsen/Christinna Pedersen [3] (DEN) 45% * Xu Chen/Ma Jin [2] (CHN) 52% * Tontowi Ahmad/Liliyana Natsir [3] (INA) 48% .
. Yes, we know that's how our Sandy derives at how our PAW points are given. It's what we see, not what we think. .
Towi/Butet face Chen Xu/Ma Jin. They have meet before, in SIN SS Towi/Butet beat them easily 21-14 21-10. Towi/Butet seems back in business again, beat all their opponents in 2 sets from first round. All the best in semifinal!
For the matches on TV Court : MD - Jung Jae Sung/Lee Yong Dae over Mathias Boe/Cartsen Mogensen WS - Wang Xin over Porntip Buranaprasertsuk XD - Tontowi Ahmad/Lilyana Natsir over Xu Chen/Ma Jin (But we will never know, both pairs not consistent!) WD - Who else? Wang Xiaoli/Yu Yang 99.99% chance MS - Lee Chong Wei over Chen Long this time, although last week I predicted the opposite.

Sadly, there will be no PAWW games for the semis, as all of the games are between different countries. The inconvenience to PAWWers is regretted, but we hope to make up for it at the Finals.
My quote of the day about French Open 2011 : from tennis forum http://www.tennisforum.com/showthread.php?t=418566&page=40
. For a CHN-vs-CHN match, we try to read LYB's mind. But when a WO and/or 'no match' happens, the match is considered invalid. .
Drums this time at the French Open. Lotsa drum-rolls! What happened to the Lone Trumpeteer? The call to arms?
My takes: MS: • LD over KT: I'm afraid it's time for the big boys to play. The Code Red button has been pressed by the CBA and the biggest weapon has been fully activated. • LCW over CL: Why has LYB activated his biggest weapon (LD)? Because he doesn't feel CL can sustain his form to beat LCW a 3rd time. WS: • WX over Porntip: The way that WX rolled over Schenk was a thing of beauty. Too fast, too accurate, too creative. Like her country woman Rat, Porntip does take her overheads early and this might buy her a bit more time to dictate the pace. • TTY over LXR: This is such a hard one to gauge. Both are young and have star power written all over them. But one CHN player in the final is enough and I like TTY MD: • Fu/Cai over Hirata/Hashimoto: The Chinese are in a foul mood and will destroy all in their path to get an opportunity to get revenge on LYD/JJS. • JJS/LYD over BoMo: The Koreans are in irresistible form and will look forward to the final with their arch-rivals. WD: • WXL/YY over Fujii/Kakiiwa: Do fish swim? • TQ/ZYL over KMJ/HJE: Any team with HJE in it is doomed. XD: • Xu/Ma over Towi/Butet: I think MJ will win the front court battle with Butet and with that, the match. • JF/CP over ZN/ZYL: JF/CP are playing out of their minds at the moment. I haven't seen anything from the Chinese, even though they're seeded #1, to make me think they can beat the Danes. I will be happy if 7 out of 10 of my predictions are correct.
2011 French Open SS: Who will move on to the Finals? . Some BCers asked me whom I think will move on to the Finals. I have only 2 guesses, namely; Mens Singles: * Lee Chong Wei [1] (MAS) Mixed Doubles: * Tontowi Ahmad/Liliyana Natsir [3] (INA) .
