2011 French Open SS: Finals Day Sunday 30-October Let's see who are the players who will win the title to gain more valuable qualification points for the coming 2012 Olympic Games). Perhaps some BCers from different countries can post their links that are working for their regions. For our BC PAW Game; http://www.badmintoncentral.com/foru...H-OPEN-SS-2011 Note : Since Chris is in Slumberland and I am too happy to fall asleep after LCW's SF victory over CL, thought I give Chris a helping hand in opening this thread. Please bear in mind there are no intentions on my part to replace Chris where he has been doing a great job.
I am slightly different from you. I am rooting for either (Tago or LCW), JJS/LYD and Fisher/Pedersen.
. Woke up and found that you have opened this thread. Thanks. So, Lee Chong Wei defeated Chen Long this time. .
It's not a job. It's for whoever wants to start the thread. The thread starter can also dictate the format. It doesn't always have to be the same, certain info is more useful to some than to others. Isn't variety the spice of life?
Yes, I am so happy, that's why I started this thread. It's very rare that I open any thread and I like Chris's format. Ok. about today's final, as usual two titles are in the bag for CHN. They will take most diciplines that has women in it and hopefully DEN XD will prevent this have the titles more evenly spread. MD - KOR pair is playing well and will win against CHN pair. 65-35. MS - Will LCW be over confident and stumble against Tago. Tago must have played well yesterday and earned himself a victory against the unpredictable comedian LD. 75-25 to LCW.
MS - Lee Chong Wei over Tago Kenichi WS - Wang Xin over Li Xuerui MD - Jung Jae Sung/Lee Yong Dae over Cai Yun/Fu Haifeng WD - . . . No comment XD - Joachim Fischer Nielsen/Christinna Pedersen over Xu Chen/Ma Jin (just because of last week) Something impressive to note : France

XD

Nan Zhang [1]

Yunlei Zhao

-

Joachim Fischer Nielsen [4]

Christinna Pedersen

14-21 24-22 20-22

Denmark

XD

Nan Zhang [1]

Yunlei Zhao

-

Joachim Fischer Nielsen [3]

Christinna Pedersen

12-21 21-14 20-22

Malaysia

XD

Nan Zhang [3]

Yunlei Zhao

-

Joachim Fischer Nielsen [6]

Christinna Pedersen

22-20 12-21 19-21

Hong Kong

XD

Nan Zhang [5]

Yunlei Zhao

-

Joachim Fischer Nielsen [6]

Christinna Pedersen

20-22 21-14 20-22

In the 20-22 matches they have always saved a match point..
agreed.. LCW has very good and well mantained stamina at such age..plus super efficient movement.. backhand clear.. diving smash defending, he's doing it with ease.. recently if im not mistaken, @ japan open final against CL, he dive and then stay on the ground while watching the shuttle in a very relaxed manner.. then when CL barely managed to lift it, he just simply get up and finish it off with a jump smash.. that's just a monstrous physical ability at this final though, kenichi will put up everything he's got..hope to see him force a rubber set
That s neat research, undeadshot. DEN XD beating CHN XD, by a whisker, four times in a row, and after fighting off match points. When will their psychological edge run out, if ever, over CHN XD?
XD: Its quite possible Xu/Ma will finally cross the threshold this time, and put it over JF/CP. But Xu needs to listen to Ma Jin: she is the wise one. He needs to put his manly ego aside for an hour or so and work as a team. I am still rooting for Kenichi to win the MS title here. More than ever, now. Of course, Wang Xin must win. Because that is what Wang Xin does. Tomorrow's headlines: Xin Wins. Although LXR might like to say, "Thou shalt not Xin!" MD? Er, LYD/JJS. Because it's time for CJ/FHF to journey the downward part of the waveform for a little while. That would be good for them: get them peaking once more at the right time next year... WD? Ach, who cares!
since kenichi tago is my fave ms i go for japan in ms hope he will be more humble after this tournament
5 countries are represented in the finals tomorrow. Denmark. Malaysia. Japan. Korea. Let's see now, who have we left out? Oh yes. China. Of passing note, sadly, is the fact that INA is nowhere to be seen in the finals. Again. Like in the Denmark Open. The Japan Open had only the MD pair of Ahsan/Septano making it to the last day. INA have some very good doubles pairs. What they are missing IMO is consistency. Hopefully they find their mojo soon...
In tennis where China do not have the luxury of walkover and retirement, Li Na, the 2011 French Open Tennis Open champion was crushed like a pulp, 0-6, 1-6, by the 2011 US Open champion Sam Stosur in the WTA year-end tournament of the top 8 seeds. Thr CBA and LYO did the match-fixing again in the 2011 Yonex French Badminton Open Championship where CL was again given a walkover by WZM in the QF match. Thankfully, LCW rose to the occassion and beat CL 23-21, 17-21, 21-15, in their SF clash. BWF, do something about this sham match-fixing.
