I'm just picking up the game after not playing for a few years. And I see everyone doing the flick serve. I'm used to the classic under hand smash. What's better?

For me, the best serve is the ONE THAT ALWAYS WINS THE POINT against whoever I am playing against at that moment ... :D

But you must always be able to hit the HIGH LONG SERVE WELL as a basic defensive serve ... :)

I don't think an underarm smash serve exists in badminton, squash or tennis. The shuttle travels in a downward direction after being hit for a smash and by definition, underarm stroke is below the shoulder.

Depends on game being played and level.

Lower league singles - high serve
higher league singles - low service

Doubles - low serve - backhand serve now preferred. Throw in odd flick serve to see if it catches them out.

Never heard of under hand smash. No such thing?? maybe u mean forehand high serve. All smashes are taken from above head height and is a shot that is hit down with power
