GOLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! muhahahahaha, another long game!!! god!!! im going too dieeeee.... yes!!!! another gold!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Didn't sleepp at night!!! I am very tired now......... But I AM TOOOOOOOO EXCITED>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> AWWWWWWWWWWWWW YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! JKLA:JDFWOIFJW!!!!!!!!!! CHINA GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
Before Kim/Ra got trashed, XD is 1 of the least expect gold for CHN (even less than MD). Well, Zhang/Gao did capture the golden chance, and more or less, this gold makes up a bit disappointment for MS.
Zhang/Gao had to thanks Jonas/Rikke who beat the Koreans pair. Ironically, Jonas/Rikke didn't even had a bronze medal. Anyway they are the second pairs to win two gold medals in a row after Ge Fei/ Gu Jun.
what an exhilirating game... My throat was hoarse at the end. I was surprised that the neighbours didn't complain Anyway, it's terrific that China got XD gold! Even though i have to say, Gail Emms is a really good player. What was with Zhang Jun though? He couldn't control his temper, you could see Gao Ling trying to stop him complaining many times!!!
To be honest, Zhang Jun should have got a yellow card. TWICE he toweled down when the umpire said play on....
When interviewed on the bbc Nathan was happy to say "gamesmanship" is all part of the game when it looked like the interviewer commented on some of the chinese actions. I was pleased with that. Gail and Nathan fought hard for their silver and after a shaky first game made the chinese earn their victory. I want to see them enjoy what they have achieved, and not go on about line calls or gamesmanship.
We've mentioned it before. Nathan/Gail should be mentally strong enough to handle such gamesmenship if they were true champions. HAving said that, China were lucky as well.
I think you always need a little luck. At the end of the day I just thought it was a superb final, especially to see how well Gail and Nathan responded to a first game demolition. And it really has had an enormous amount of coverage over here. The BBC and radio really got behind the sport, which is no bad thing at all.
I do not know if people missed it, but when Zhang and Gao posed for pictures, they had their fingers up in a V for Victory. Zhang Jun had his the other way round, (ie. showing the outside of the hand)!!! I thought it was very very funny. I am sure he knew the other meaning of this
I saw that too. Hilarious. Cheeky joker is ZJ yeah the digital tv channel streaming options were great. They showed a lot if not most of the badminton matches live in full. Including the medal ceremonies too for the finals. Which also makes it nice for archive taping, as I hate edited highlights. Well done BBC! . Shame about the rest of the intervening 4 years though
In france, The V with the outside of the hand nto significate the same thing LoL ... but my english teacher told me what does it mean in England and i don't think zhang jun know what it mean hahah =p
I think it only has meaning in UK. Not sure if has the same meaning to our Australian and NZ friends. Over in Asian countries, it is quite common for people to use the V with the back of the hand to signify "two". Going back to the match, even after a few days, people at work are still talking about how exciting this match was!! That's great!!
