Since, I haven't posted for months I'll try to post alot. :p Some of these questions have been burning in my mind.

From the center of the court, I do cross-over stepping to go to the sides and corners. I use this to reply to a shot. After replying, I go back chasse stepping. I find crossing-over much faster but I tend to lose more balance. Chasse stepping, I find, is the opposite. It's slower, but more stable. I also find myself less tired chasse stepping.

What do you think of this? Is it a good method? Is it a bad one? Or does it really depend on each person?

I think there was another thread discussing this in the last few days.

I was under the impression that it was an issue of personal preference. My coach showed me both methods, and I prefer crossing over for the back of the court. He told me that crossing over isn't a good idea for going to the net, as it can leave you quite vulnerable and unstable if you misjudge.
On Tuesday, however, another coach told me I was using old footwork, and should be chasseing (sp?) to the back forehand corner, as it leaves you with more options..........
