I'm sure this applies to almost all of us. As I use more power in my smash, the accuracy of it decreases. Typically, one of my smashes using full strength will not be close to the sideline, or where I want it to be. Of course decreasing the power used would make my shots more accurate...but here's my question: Should I sacrifice power for accuracy?

    power vs accuracy

    Hi,
Accuracy means precision and points.Power too i aiming for points but not exactly with precision. I will love accuracy couples with speed to gain points than just power.;) Obviously power = speed + strength.:p I would say accuracy will tend to help u to score more points than just power.:D Power is good when u need it to smash, drive and clear base to base.;)
    Adios.

how accurate r u talkin about here?:p do u just want it to generally land near the sidelines or do u want the bird to land ON the sidelines:D

i know u wrote that if u use full strength it wont be close to the line, but from my understanding when playing u on court, ur intention seems to be trying to target the bird rite on the line. it might also affect ur accuracy when u have too much of a perfectionist mindset, n make ur expectations too high.

Depends on the situation. I used to smash at one speed (basically). Now when I go for accuracy shots, I slow down to my best comfortable/accurate swing to get optimal placement. If I'm smashing near the middle or it's a sure thing, then I usually hit much harder. :D
