Hi all! Anyone have any info on the SOTX new D-series rackets (Nick named Diamond fighter) D-900, D-600, D-500 and D-300 ... I just bought the D-900 (top model).. Racket is completely golden.. Very nice design.. Haven't tried it yet (busy getting accustomed to the E-1000 Vectran) specs.. material.. no clue.. anybody have info? weight = 85.5 g. length (675mm (+10 mm long) ) Balance point 285mm flex:stiff pics coming up..
I have a question for this racket. Is the Cross-Section of the frame Diamond shaped? I have two rackets that have the Diamond Shaped cross-section. Kason TSF 200 and the Victor Super Nano. These are suppose to be the next generation design for a stronger frame.
I have the samples from SOTX as well. The Diamond fighters especially the D-900 is a very nice looking racket and its rare for SOTX to release "metallic" looking rackets. My initial experience is the racket feels different than the high performance Woven series. It seems to be more flexible and I generated a few very hard smashes from it. Overall, people who tried it likes the feel and the performance. I will test it out more and provide some reviews or perhaps Dink will probably beat me to it.
For those based in Singapore, heard that Classic Sports SAFRA will be bringing in limited number of pieces after the Chinese New Year.
Already hit with the D-900 some. It's definitely a different feel than the Woven rackets. Doesn't feel as solid but it's not bad. Just different. I recall it felt quite powerful and a bit more forgiving (less stiff) than a Woven 8. We'll have to hit the D-900 some more today (Thursday). Jumpy, please bring it. There's The Pot today...you want to help me donate to it? Also, a gentleman named Todd is coming down from Manhattan Beach Badminton Club to play; I told him I would hook up with him. I'm sure we can get some good games going.
No, the ones I've seen is all ISO (all versions where not lon +10mm though, one was regular length, cant remeber which one)
For two reasons.. 1) I want higher tension 2) I do like Yonex strings (BG80,BG66S) more than SOTX strings at high tensions.. BTW it says recommended tension 28lbs o the shaft /T
Actually, I am not sure about the technology used in this series, I cannot read chineese It has inserts on the frame at 4 and 8 o'clock.. Feels rather stiff and good torsion stability.. I was hoping someone new more about it than me...
OK, makes sense. I like the SOTX string, it's very powerful but it's slippery and doesn't have the bite of BG80.
