Heryanto Arbi's jumping smashes.. hmmm.. yeah.. Zhao Jianhua's wizadry... Morten Frost's Hansen's cool head... Prakash Padukone's patience.... Swee King's tenacity.... Well lets start a thread here by reminescing the past heroes that we love sooo much in the past.. many more for me than the above mentioned but just to start the ball rolling...
You forgot to add Poul Erik Hoyer Larsen. How Denmark had been denied the CUp is really beyond me. Specially in 90's when they had Poul, Peter and KJ play together in a team. Guess Indonesia players aremuch stronger that days. Anway, in order for me to not sliping far away in badminton manager, I am hoping and praying China will win 3-0 Cause I guess lots of the badminton manager players banking all their money on Denmark players
For China you had to add Yang Yang, jiang Guo Bao and of course 2000 Gold Medal Olympic Jie Xin Peng. From Indonesia how can you forget Hendrawan the World Champion, and alsothe key factor to Indonesia winning TC 2000 and 2002.
------------------------------ T, Crocodile Serve]Han Jian's impregnable defence (reincarnated in the form of Sun Jun decades later)[/QUOTE] I hope people will remember that Han Jian's defence is only part of his repertoire, he could also play well in attacking mode (see 1980 MATCH AGAINST Liem Swie King & 1985 World champs against Frost). SunJun's defensive game was pre 1996 after that he could also play good attcking games (see 1998 GP versus Gade) or defence or any style he chose.
Dun forget the trio : - Morten Frost Hansen - Yang Yang - Icuk Sugiarto Icuk always beat Morten, Morten always beat Yang Yang, and Yang Yang always beat Icuk ......... even maths can not explained.
gosh.. those wonderful memories come flooding back with all the names of past greats being flashed back.. yeah.. i remembered Icuk Sugiarto, Yang2, Xiong Guobao, Hendrawan. Well some names that really was before my time was the great Dane, Earland Kops. I think badminton is still one of the most elegant games that is retained though technology has changed the game tremendously.
hehehe.. saw somebody mentioned Malaysia's badminton darling.. Sylvia Ng. If we talk bout female players well a slew of Chinese players would surface laced with some Indonesian, Danish and English players tho... wanna start? Name them away guys!
