Here's the front cover of the first issue of Badminton Asia published by Asian Badminton Confederation. Quite appropriately, Lin Dan, currently ranked world number 1, stole the limelight by being the first player on its cover. But stripped off his T-shirt and only wearing his muscular bare body, he looks more a swimmer than a badminton player! This time he was not cast in his typical 'salute' pose but in a defiant show of victory with out-stretched arms and both index fingers pointed towards the heavens. We should be able to buy a copy at the Aviva Open next week! Badminton Asia, a new badminton sports and lifestyle magazine, has hit the country’s shores and is now available at selected courts and sporting goods stores. The magazine, which has world No. 1 Lin Dan as its cover photo, is the official voice of the Asian Badminton Confederation in the region and will be circulated to 42 member-countries of the ABC, with Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and the Philippines as key markets. Some of the contents inside. Changing the Rules: New 21 points System , Ask the Coach , PowerPacked Punch : Chat with Punch , Growing Up Padukone ( this one you will like ). Great Partners,Tough Opponents : Tony Gunawan and Candra Wijaya. I'm actually holding the issue.
I am not sure about the others, but this inaugural issue seems to be lack of substance. They try to touch on a lot of things (like the various Asian team coverage) but no going in depth enough to give readers that little something special. I also find it a little amusing seeing all those models (do not seem like players to me!!!) posing in the badminton shirts/shorts and holding non-strung rackets! Noted most of the correspondants are Philippines based (so are the photographers/models/advertisements). Is there a specifc reason for that? Could ABF not get a good mixed of contributors from every major member countries - I would imagine that would give the magazine different flavour. Hey - why am I complaining? Should be glad that such a magazine even existed!
yo ants! is the magazine availabale in manila? been waiting for its release as i think is the substitute for badminton philippines. thanks bro!
this magazine was the original badmag.net from Philippines. Management remains in Manila, advertising sold in Manila, HK and SG.

This is avail at Sportslink outlets in S'pore...! Thought its a little expensive though but I guess that has to do with the very specialized target audience..

It's pretty easy to get a copy here in Manila. The badminton courts sell copies as well as most of the major magazine stores.
:crying: i just recently relocated in cebu city, philippines and i couldn't find a copy of the magazine. hopefully it is still available by the time i fly back to manila next month or sport shops here in cebu would have it by then.
Is there a website to order the magazine online? I am super interested even if the magazine isn't amazing. I want the pics! I'm making my room super cool lol.
If you visit their website at www.badmag.net or www.badminton-asia.com, it says it's coming soon but there is an email address. You could try that.
