This year should be interesting as there are a fewupcoming players be playing in this tournament. Tommy Sugiato will be leading the indonesian team to the Asian Junior Tournament. Anybody hv any news on other teams?
it will be held in stadium badminton Kuala Lumpur (KLBA) in Cheras. I wonder who will represent Malaysia in this event.anyone have news.
Hmm..after looking at the list of participants...Tommy Sugiarto is surprisingly not there He would be the highest ranked participant if he is there. Some notable names in the draws: Saina Nehwal, Jang Soo Young, Xing Aiying (singles and doubles, with Shinta Mulya Sari), Pia Zebadiah, Lydia Cheah Li Ya, Wang Yihan, Lee Yong Dae (in doubles),
I didn't know Lee Yong-Dae is only 18. I think he's gonna be a star, like Park Joo-Bong and Kim Dong Moon.
I don't know about others but Arif Latis is top seed Lok Chong Chieh and Vountus Indra Mawan are also competing and of course, Lydia Cheah.
It's Under-19 Here's an article about AJC from today's newspaper. http://www.thestar.com.my/sports/story.asp?file=/2006/6/30/sports/14701290&sec=sports
Team Indonesia is drawn to play India on Tuesday. A tough job for them since Saina Nehwal is expected to play in Women's Singles and probably Doubles. Pia or Bellaetrix to play her? No Tommy Sugiarto makes it even harder for Team Indonesia to have any realistic chance of winning the mixed-team event.
china will win the mix-team-championsships!! why does tommy not participate?? how come that arif latif is top seed?? china's men's singles players r better for sure! lu qicheng already won it last year.
it's a very very strange seeding!! all three chinese players are unseeded, but arif latif is topseeded!! hong ji hoon only on 9/16 but vountus on 3/4?! - that's a stupid seeding .... but anyway lu qicheng will win the competition! same thing with seeding arif and vountus top in men's doubles!!
The seeding should be combine IBF Ranking with Junior event results. Nightmare for SIN 3/4 seeded team against unseeded CHN team in 1st round also in individual even who against unseeded CHN players in early round Indonesia team send the best team without Tommy Sugiarto, Achmad Rivai & Nitya Krishinda. This event will be held in July 3, but some of INA players played in Training Center/Clubs Championships in Solo, just finished in July 1. Saina to lead India in Asian junior badminton New Delhi, June 30. (PTI): A 12-member junior team, led by teenage sensation Saina Nehwal, would be seen in action at the Asian Junior Badminton Championship in Kuala Lampur from July 3-9. Saina, seeded second in the tournament, has got a bye in the first round. The team members are scheduled to leave for Malaysia tonight.
