My footwork was always good and fast, i always move as fast as i can to the shuttle to take it early. Untill a week ago, i dont know why, i just cant move my legs like i used to, is like my body refuse to move eventhough i force myself to. I m not using a new shoe, not having major injuries, and did not gain weight. Has this ever happened to anyone else before?
Maybe your just having a bad week. Sometimes I don't play over the weekend, then when I come back during the week it feels like I can't do anything that I could last week. For me I blame myself for trying to project too much of the past into my current situation and being distacted.
Most likely just having a bad week, everyone has them. Try and relax when you play next and you might find that it comes easier and naturally for you.
Maybe you are suddenly getting old? Could be you are overtrained or you forgot some detail in your footwork, the split step for example. Or you wait in a position that doesn't allow you to move directly because you must first turn your feet to the shuttle? I often forget some detail in my strokes because i don't play so much or i try to change something to master a new stroke and then the old stroke is suddenly weak for example becuase i changed my grip...
I dont think i m having a bad week, its been goin on for almost 3 weeks now. I will try to relax more i guess, i will give it a try.
its possible to over stress your muscle to a point that it won't listen to your brain nemore (muscles refuse to contract as u wish so giving no movment) i remember playing volleyball for too many hours a day that afterward i sat down and i simply could not stand up, not like its hurting or nething its almost like a car that stalled, u wanted to stand up and u can feel yr leg muscles contract for a brief second then give up.. i couldn't do a thing about it as if i was handicaped... end up sat there for a good hour before i can finally walk again.. u might or might not be experiecing the same thing but i'd say proper rest and don't overdo something is just my 2 cents
My case isnt that serious, is it possible for that to last for weeks? Maybe my situation is something similiar to yours but a more minor one.
I do usually play with weaker opponents because all the good players already quited to study, most of them went overseas. But i dont think i am lazy while playing with them, is also a challenge too play with weaker opponents, like not giving them more than 5 points for example.
I have that, sometimes I can beat a friend that beats me most of the time, sometimes I cant, maybe you should take a day off relax yourself maybe you are stressed btw if you didnt warm up before playing then you have to do that cause last time i dont and it takes me quite a while to get to my best
Could be that your mind isnt in it, mind over body after all. Or it could be because your legs are tired. Usually when your body is tired, there are times when you cant feel it but it actually slows you down. Take a rest and see what happens, should help you physically and mentally
May be you didn't eat well before and after the game? Try gatorade or some drink like that during your game. Recently, I bought some low sugar, bottle tea drinks from the supermarket. And may be you didn't run as much as you used to.
